Why Collecting Payments Through Thryv Business Center Saves You Time
When you connect a payment processor to Thryv Business Center, every payment you collect — whether from an invoice, an appointment, or your Client Portal — is tracked in one place. You no longer need to cross-reference a separate payment app against your customer records. Payments are logged directly to the customer's profile, so you can see exactly what has been paid, what is outstanding, and when.
Thryv Business Center supports ThryvPay™, Stripe, Square, and PayPal as payment processors. Customers can pay online from any device using the live payment link sent with an invoice or estimate. You can also collect payment in advance when a customer books an appointment. Funds collected through any connected processor are deposited directly into the bank account of your choosing — Thryv Business Center does not hold or delay funds on your behalf.
Which Payment Processor Should I Use?
Thryv Business Center supports four payment processors: ThryvPay™, Stripe, Square, and PayPal. You can only have one processor active at a time, but you can switch between processors from your payment settings. If you already use Stripe or Square for your business, you can connect your existing account. If you do not have a payment processor yet, ThryvPay is designed specifically for Thryv Business Center users and does not require a separate account setup outside of the platform.
You do not need to connect a payment processor to use the Sales features in Thryv Business Center. Without a connected processor, you can still send invoices and estimates and record payments made by cash or check. You simply will not be able to run credit card transactions without a connected processor.
Important: If you switch processors and disconnect your current one, any refunds for transactions processed under the previous processor must still be issued through that processor. Thryv Business Center cannot process a refund through a different processor than the one used for the original transaction.
Processing Rates for Each Payment Processor
The following rates apply to transactions processed through each connected payment processor. Thryv Business Center does not charge an additional transaction fee on top of your processor's standard rate. You pay only your processor's published rate.
- ThryvPay: 2.6% + $0.30 for swiped card transactions. 2.9% + $0.30 for online transactions and manually entered card numbers. ACH payments: 1% with a $9.00 cap.
- Square: 2.6% + $0.10 for swiped card transactions. 2.9% + $0.30 for online transactions and manually entered card numbers. 3.5% + $0.15 for in-person manually keyed-in transactions.
- Stripe: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
- PayPal: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
The following chart shows all payment processors supported by Thryv Business Center and their capabilities. It compares ThryvPay, Stripe, Square, and PayPal across transaction types and features available when integrated with Thryv Business Center.
For questions about fees from Stripe, Square, or PayPal, contact those processors directly. Their rates and fee structures are set by each processor and may change independently. Thryv Business Center has no control over third-party processor fees.
How to Connect Your Payment Processor
To connect a payment processor, click Settings in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center. Then click Payments. Under the Merchant Account section, select the payment processor you want to connect and follow the on-screen prompts to link your account or create a new one.
After connecting your processor, confirm that the Online Payments option is checked in your payment settings. This setting must be enabled for customers to pay online through invoices, estimates, or your Client Portal. If Online Payments is not checked, customers will not see a payment option when they receive a payment request from you.
For step-by-step connection instructions for each processor, see the dedicated setup articles linked in each section below.

Payments FAQ
Does a customer need to opt in to receive an invoice or estimate by text or email?
No. Invoices and estimates are considered transactional messages and do not require a customer opt-in. Thryv Business Center will send the invoice or estimate to the customer's email address or phone number on file without requiring prior consent.
Can I update an invoice or estimate after it has been sent to a customer?
No. Once an invoice or estimate has been sent to a customer, it cannot be edited. To make changes, create a new invoice or estimate, or clone the existing one and send the updated version. The original sent invoice or estimate will remain unchanged in the customer's record.
What format is used when an invoice or estimate is sent to a customer?
Invoices and estimates are sent as a live HTML link that the customer can open on any device. The customer can also download the invoice or estimate as a PDF directly from the payment link.
Can I send an invoice or estimate to more than one customer at a time?
No. Invoices and estimates in Thryv Business Center can only be sent to one customer at a time. The customer who receives the invoice or estimate can forward the link to an additional recipient on their end, but Thryv Business Center does not support multi-recipient sending from the platform.
Do I need to open a new bank account to accept payments through Thryv Business Center?
No. Funds from credit card transactions are deposited directly into the bank account you specify during payment processor setup. You can use your existing business or personal bank account. You do not need to open a new account.
How long does it take for funds to reach my bank account after a payment is processed?
Thryv Business Center does not hold or delay funds. Once a transaction is processed and submitted to the card network, deposit timing is determined by your card network. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover transactions typically take 2–3 business days. American Express transactions typically take 3–5 business days.
Will my business name or Thryv appear on my customer's credit card statement?
Your business name and logo (if you have uploaded a logo to your account) will appear on the customer's credit card statement. Thryv Business Center will not appear as the merchant name on any customer-facing statement, regardless of which payment processor you use.
How secure are payments processed through Thryv Business Center?
All payment processing, security protocols, and fraud protection are managed directly by your connected payment processor — ThryvPay, Stripe, Square, or PayPal. What should I include in the Terms and Conditions section on my invoices?
The Terms and Conditions on your invoices should be determined by you or your legal advisor based on your business type and local requirements.
