Why Registering Clients for Group Events Saves You Time and Fills Your Calendar
Waiting for clients to register themselves means empty spots and missed revenue. Thryv lets you register clients for group events directly from your dashboard — individually, by tag, or from a client's contact card — so you can fill your event roster without chasing anyone down. Once registered, each client automatically receives a confirmation by email and SMS, so your clients show up informed and your calendar stays organized.
How to Register Clients for a Group Event from the Event Page
To register clients directly from a group event, open the event in your calendar. Before registering clients, confirm that you have already created your group event and added occurrences to your calendar. Once the event is open, click the Register Clients button.

How to Choose Between Registering for One Occurrence or the Full Series
After clicking Register Clients, Thryv will ask whether you want to register the client for a single occurrence of the event or for all occurrences in the group event series. Select the option that matches the registration you want to complete before proceeding to select clients.
The screenshot below shows the prompt that appears after clicking Register Clients. The prompt displays two options: register the client for this specific occurrence only, or register the client for all occurrences in the series.
How to Select Clients to Register Individually or by Tag
After selecting the occurrence option, Thryv will display the client selection screen. You can register clients individually by searching for and selecting their names, or you can register a group of clients at once by selecting a tag. Registering by tag applies the registration to all clients in your CRM who have that tag assigned to their contact record.

When registering by individual client, you can select multiple clients at the same time. Each selected client will appear highlighted in the list before you proceed.

How to Add a Note and Send the Registration
After selecting the clients you want to register, click Continue. Thryv will give you the option to add a personal note to the registration notification that will be sent to the selected clients. Once you have added your note or decided to leave the note blank, click Send. Thryv will immediately register the selected clients and send each of them a confirmation notification by email. If SMS text notifications for bookings are enabled in your account, each registered client will also receive an SMS confirmation. How to Register a Client for a Group Event from Their Contact Card
You can also register a client for a group event directly from their contact card in your CRM. Open the client's contact card from your client list. Click New, then click Register to Event, then select the group event you want to register the client for. If the client needs to be registered for all occurrences in the group event series, check the box labeled Register client for all events in the series before confirming the registration.

How to View the Guest List for a Group Event
Once clients are registered for a group event, their names appear on the guest list for that event occurrence. To view the guest list, open the event occurrence in your calendar. The guest list displays all currently registered clients for that specific occurrence.

How to Manage Cancelled Group Event Registrations
When a client cancels their registration for a group event, the client's name moves to a cancelled section below the active guest list. The cancelled section shows whether the client cancelled the registration themselves or whether a staff member cancelled it on their behalf. This distinction helps you track cancellation patterns and follow up appropriately.

What Actions Are Available for a Cancelled Registration
To take action on a cancelled registration, click the three-dot menu on the cancelled client's row. The three-dot menu provides the following options for each cancelled registration:
Go to Payment Page — opens the payment record for this registration, where you can issue a refund for the group event fee if applicable.
Go to Conversation — opens the message thread with this client, where you can send a follow-up message.
Go to Client Page — opens the client's full contact card, where you can view general information about the client.
