Why Send Your Contact Information as a VCF File
When a contact needs to save your phone number, email, or business address, sending them a Virtual Contact File (VCF) makes it effortless. A VCF file is a digital contact file that opens automatically in the native Contacts application on any device — iPhone, Android, or desktop. When the contact opens the VCF file, their device reads it and pre-fills all your contact details, so they can save your information in one tap without typing anything manually.
Important: Sending a VCF file requires the Keap™ Business Line mobile app. The Keap Business Line app is free to download and must be installed on your mobile device before you can send VCF files.
What Information Is Included in Your VCF File
Your VCF file is generated automatically from your Keap user profile and business profile. The following contact details are included in the VCF file sent to your contacts:
User first name
User last name
Keap Business Phone number
User email address
Business name
Website
Business address
To update the information included in your VCF file, update your Keap user profile or business profile before sending.
How to Send Your VCF Contact File from Keap Business Line
Open the Keap Business Line mobile app and navigate to the conversation thread with the contact you want to send your information to. If you do not have an existing thread with the contact, create a new message thread with that contact.
-
In the conversation thread, locate the business card icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
The screenshot below shows the conversation thread screen in the Keap Business Line mobile app. The toolbar at the bottom of the screen displays several icons for message actions. The business card icon appears among the toolbar icons and is distinguishable by its business card shape. The message input field appears above the toolbar.
Tap the business card icon to add your VCF file and a default message template to the message preview.
-
Optional: Edit the message text in the message preview before sending. The VCF file attachment will remain in the message regardless of any edits made to the message text.
The screenshot below shows the message preview screen in the Keap Business Line mobile app after the business card icon has been tapped. The VCF file appears as an attachment in the message preview. The message text field is editable and displays the default template text. The Send button appears at the bottom right of the screen.
Tap Send to deliver the VCF file and message to the contact.
