What is Thryv?
Thryv is the only payment-invoicing-customer communication software you'll ever need. Thryv is your online assistant, allowing you to manage your business, attract new customers and maintain relationships with existing ones - 24/7 from any device, automatically, with some helping hands along the way!
Is Thryv a bundle?
No. Thryv is a business software that encompasses an integrated set of product features and tools rather than individual products managed separately.
Can I upgrade my Thryv package at any time?
Yes! From your Thryv, simply click on Settings>My Account>View Pricing & follow the prompts to upgrade your package.
Do I have to use every feature and tool Thryv comes with?
No. You can choose which features and tools you wish to activate or use depending on the needs of your business. In general, all components of Thryv are valuable!
Why is there a setup fee?
This fee covers the fulfillment setup cost associated with Thryv. This is a one-time charge and will be billed on your first bill. You would not pay the setup fee again when renewing your contract, even if you upgrade.
How do I download the Thryv software?
You don't! You simply head over to go.thryv.com, and use your credentials you received in your email to login.
When do I get billed?
You will be billed for the setup fee and the first month's charge immediately after the order is submitted into the system. An email is sent to you approximately five minutes after your payment is processed with the login to Thryv.

What is a CRM?
Our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) feature within Thryv helps build and maintain customer contacts, connect with them regularly using text and email marketing, and accept and manage online appointments.
How does Thryv capture customer information for my clients?
When a customer fills out a form, claims a coupon, or schedules an appointment, all of these details are captured and entered automatically, creating a new client in your CRM.
If I already have a database of customers, can I import them into my Thryv CRM?
Yes, you can import your client list via an excel spreadsheet, Google contacts, or manually.
How many clients can I add to my Thryv database?
Can I tag my customers within a specific group once they've been entered as a contact, and can the same customer be in different groups/tags?
Yes. This can be done after the contacts have been added or while you are importing them into Thryv. You can customize your clients by grouping or tagging them - and they can be tagged multiple times.

Can I merge my other calendars into Thryv?
You can sync your Google calendar (iOS and Android) your iCloud/iCal, your Outlook/Office 365/Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo, or even another calendar you wish to use with Thryv. At this time, you can only sync one calendar.
If my customer needs to change their appointment after booking it online, can they do that?
Yes, your customer can call you and request a change in the appointment time, or they can also utilize a feature in your client portal function of Thryv to request an appointment change. All of these functions are able to be adjusted to your liking under Settings>Online Booking Options.
Are appointments scheduled in real-time?
If I don't want appointments to be scheduled by my customers, how is that done?
You can adjust this under Settings>Online Booking Options.
Is there a Master Calendar for me, the business owner, can see all the appointments for all staff at once?
Thryv supports multiple staff members, and with the admin login, you are able to have full visibility of all your staffing schedules and services within the calendar.
Can I set up different times within each calendar to suit each staff member?
Yes. You can block out times for each staff member on each calendar.
What types of reminders can I send to my customers?
Appointment reminders are able to be sent via text or email. You can locate your reminders under Settings>Auto Client Messages and also Settings>Inbox & Leads. You also have the option to receive your own text notifications under Settings & Staff & Select Staff Member/Edit My Notifications.
Do my customers have to opt-in to promotional text messages?
Yes, this is required by law in order to receive promotional text messages from a business.
Are there any businesses that cannot purchase Thryv?
There are three main category restrictions for Thryv: Pharmaceutical Companies, Marijuana-related businesses and Adult Services (escorts, and overtly sexually-oriented businesses). However, there may also be restrictions within other categories to elements of Thryv, such as social or text marketing. You can contact us here if you have questions about whether or not Thryv is a good fit for your business.
Does my customer have to opt-in to receive text or email estimates?
No, these are considered transactional messages and therefore do not require an opt-in.
What is considered transactional vs. promotional messages for email and text marketing programs?
Transactional messages are emails or text messages sent from the business to a customer with the assumption there is a pre-existing business relationship and do not contain any promotional nor marketing content. Ex: Appointment confirmations, appointment cancelations, appointment reminders, "Thank you for your business. We have confirmed your appointment for tomorrow 11/20/18 at 2:00pm".
Promotional messages are emails or text messages promoting or marketing a special event, product discount, limited inventory item, classes, etc..and would also contain specific opt-out language. Promotional messaging requires, by Federal Law, a double-opt-in from your customer, and should clearly show how to opt-out should they choose. Ex: "Please come in Tuesday and mention code HAIRDO for 10% off! To opt-out of these messages, REPLY STOP."
Can I link my existing PayPal/Braintree account to Thryv?
Yes, if you already have a PayPal/Braintree account, simply use your current credentials when following the prompts to connect your account in the Sales section of Thryv.
Do I have to set up a PayPal/Braintree account in order to use the Sales feature in Thryv?
Without a PayPal/Braintree account, you are still able to use all other functionalities within the Sales feature and acknowledge other forms of payments like cash/check. You simply would not be able to run credit card payments.

What are the transactional rates when using credit card processing through payments?
Standard Rates apply whether through the Thryv app or manually entered. They are 2.9% + .30 cents per transaction, with rates as low as 2.2% if qualified.
How does Thryv compare to Square processing and transaction fees?
Thryv is very competitive with Square at 2.9% + .30 cents per transaction, which includes all estimates, invoices, payments & manual entry. Square has rates starting at 2.75%-3.5% and up to, or including .15-.30 cents per transaction. Also, this does not include the cost of hardware, hidden fees, or a full integrated solution that ties everything back to your CRM.
Is there a tax calculator available to help determine my tax by city/state?
Thryv does not have a built-in tax calculator. You will need to include any taxes or fees when sending your invoices or processing payments.
Will Thryv or Braintree/PayPal branding appear on my estimates and invoices?
No, only your Business name, and logo, if uploaded, will be included.
Can Quickbooks or other software be integrated with Thryv?
Yes! Thryv has many different integrations, made possible by Zapier. Check out this article to learn more.
What should I put in my Terms & Conditions on my invoices?
This is language that should be determined by the business owner only. However, we have provided some general content that may be helpful for you when building your own terms and conditions.
When an estimate or invoice is sent to my customer, can it be updated?
No. Once an estimate or invoice is sent, it cannot be changed. A new one will need to be created or clones from an existing estimate or invoice.
What is the format in which an estimate or invoice is sent?
It is sent via a live HTML link, but can easily be downloaded as a PDF.
Can an estimate or invoice be sent to multiple emails or customers?
Not at this time, however a customer can choose to forward the link/message to an additional recipient.
Not at all! All of the funds collected from credit card transactions are deposited directly into the bank account of your choosing.
Will there be a delay or hold on funds from payments being submitted to the credit card companies for processing?
No, funds will not be placed on hold or delayed. Once the transaction is processed and sent to credit card companies, timeframes vary based on credit card type. Visa, MasterCard & Discover take up to 2-3 days. American Express can take anywhere from 3-5 days.
Will Thryv appear on my customer's credit card statements from Braintree/PayPal?
No, your business name and logo (if uploaded) will appear on all statements.
How secure are payments that are processed using Thryv?
Thryv Sales is fully integrated with Braintree/PayPal. They are in full control of all payment processing, security and fraud protection. This includes full PCI compliance and Secure Payment Processing.
Do I need to have a corporation or business license to open a PayPal/Braintree merchant account?
No, however, you will be asked specific questions like your business name, category and type of business, income, etc..

How do I access the Thryv Mobile App?
Our Thryv Mobile App can be downloaded for free through the Apple App Store & Google Play.
Is the Thryv Mobile App a replica of everything I can do in the desktop version of the software?
Yes! The app is meant to be used to manage major day-to-day B2C interactions to avoid keeping customers waiting and be more efficient. Everything you can do in Thryv, you can do inside the mobile app.
How can the mobile app help me to easily manage my business from the palm of my hand?
Our Thryv Mobile App can help you manage customer appointments, bookings and receive reminders of upcoming events. You can easily add and upload your customers from you phone to stay connected and manage contacts. You can get paid faster and easier with Mobile QuickPay and by creating estimates and invoices. Stay informed and in charge of your day with notifications and messages, including when you receive a review. Your business information will also be pushed to all 70+ networks to ensure listings online are accurate!
Will the Thryv Mobile App be able to call, text, or email my loaded contacts?
No. Any attempt to call, text or email, will open the respected call screen, mailbox, or texting app within the particular device. However, interactions will be tracked within the contact details within the Thryv app.
Is the functionality for social the same on desktop and mobile?
Yes, anything you can do on desktop, you can do using our Thryv Mobile App!
What publisher networks are included as part of the Online Listings Management feature in Thryv?
The networks that are included are Google (Google My Business), Yahoo!, Bing, Yelp, as well as an additional 70+ top publisher sites.
How soon after a listing is claimed and updated does it reflect on the partner sites?
Many listings are made in real-time, however, some can take up to 24-48 hours to update.
What features are updated with my listings?
Logos, special offers, hours of operation, brick & mortar address & more can be updated across all our publisher sites.
Is Social Media included in my Thryv?
The ability to connect, schedule, and create posting plans for 5 social media platforms is only available with the Plus, Professional & Unlimited Thryv packages.
What social media platforms will I be able to post to?
You will be able to post to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and Instagram with our $199 and above packages.. Our software allows you to directly schedule and publish posts on all of these platforms. (Even Instagram!) Our social media library is comprised of over 500k engaging posts.
