Adding staff members to Thryv Business Center gives your team the access they need to manage clients, appointments, and communications, while letting you control exactly what each person can see and do. When you add a staff member, you set their login credentials, assign their role, and choose which services they provide, all from your settings. This article covers how to create a new staff member account, set permissions, assign a role, and add the services the staff member will provide.
How to Create a New Staff Member Account
To add a new staff member, click the nine-dot app launcher icon in the top-left corner of the page and click My Account. In My Account, click Add/Update Staff. Click the + icon to begin adding a new staff member.
Enter the new staff member's information in the fields provided, including their name and email address. The email address entered here will be the address the staff member uses to log in to Thryv Business Center. The staff member will receive an email at this address to set their own password. Passwords can only be set or reset by the staff member themselves (not by the Admin). Use the toggles in the My Leads section to control which communication channels the staff member has access to.
How to Set Staff Member Permissions in Thryv Business Center
After creating the staff member account in My Account, navigate to Thryv Business Center to set the staff member's permissions. Click the nine-dot app launcher icon in the top-left corner of the page and click Thryv Business Center. Click Settings in the left-hand navigation, then click Staff. Find the new staff member in the staff list and click Edit to open the staff member's settings.
How to Assign a Role to a Staff Member
Inside the staff member's settings, locate the Role field and select the appropriate role for the staff member. The role you assign determines what the staff member can access and manage inside Thryv Business Center. Select the role that matches the staff member's responsibilities and level of access required.
How to Choose Which Services a Staff Member Provides
In the staff member's settings, locate the services section and select the services the staff member will provide. Only the services you select here will be available for clients to book with that staff member. When you have finished selecting the staff member's role and services, click Add to save the staff member's settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a staff member set or reset their own password?
Yes. Passwords can only be set or reset by the staff member themselves. When a new staff member account is created, the staff member receives an email at their login address with instructions to set their password. As the Admin, you cannot set or reset a staff member's password on their behalf.
