Great question! In order to take a payment through PayPal through the website and create a new (or update existing) customer, you will need to set it up through the client portal payment widget.

(Note that if you use the PayPal widget in the website editor, it will not write to the client card.)

To do this, Connect PayPal as your payment processor. 

Then, create your payment widget in the client portal. There are a couple of ways to do this

If you are already using the floating or inline widgets, then you can add it to this set.
Navigate to Online Presence>Website Widgets>Edit/View and ensure Make Payment is checked. 

Alternatively, to create a payment button on its own, navigate to Online Presence>Client Portal>Create Direct Links and select Make Payment. From here, grab the payment link, and you can then go back to the website editor and create a payment button with this link as the destination.
