Why Share Documents Through Thryv Business Center
Sharing documents through Thryv Business Center™ eliminates the need to send files through personal email or third-party file sharing tools. Documents shared through the client portal are delivered securely, stored in one place, and accessible to both you and your client at any time. You can share blueprints, agreements, photos, contracts, and more — and your clients can upload documents back to you through the same portal. Keeping all document exchanges inside Thryv Business Center means nothing gets lost in an inbox and your client records stay complete.
How to Share a Document with a Client
Follow these steps to share a document with a client through Thryv Business Center.
- Open the client card and start a document share
Navigate to the client card for the client you want to share a document with. Click New, then click Share Document from the dropdown menu.
- Select the document you want to share
Thryv Business Center gives you two options for selecting the document to share:
- Upload Document, click Upload Document to select a file from your device. Your device's file browser will open, where you can locate and select the file you want to share. Supported file types include blueprints, agreements, photos, and other common document formats.
- Select From My Documents, click the Select From My Documents dropdown to browse documents already saved in your Thryv Business Center account. Check the box next to each document you want to share. You can select multiple documents at the same time.
- Add a message and notify your client
After selecting the document, choose whether to notify your client by email that a document has been shared with them. You can also add a personal message to include in the notification email. If you choose not to send a notification, your client can still access the document by logging into their client portal directly.
- Complete the document share
Click Add to share the document with your client. If you selected the email notification option, your client will receive an email notifying them that a document has been shared with them.
Your client can click View Document in the email to access the document. Clicking View Document will automatically sign the client into their client portal where they can view the document. If you did not select the email notification option, your client can log into their client portal directly to access the document.
How Your Client Accesses the Shared Document
Once you share a document, your client can access it in one of two ways:
- Via email notification, if you selected the email notification option, your client will receive an email with a View Document button. Clicking View Document will automatically sign the client into their client portal where they can view the document.
- Via the client portal, if no email notification was sent, your client can log into their client portal directly and access the document from there.
How to View Documents You Have Sent to a Client
To view a document you have shared with a client, open the client card. Click Documents, then click Sent To Client. The Sent To Client tab displays all documents you have shared with that client, including the document name and the date it was shared.
