Why Configure Your Notification Settings in Thryv Business Center
Knowing immediately when a client pays, books, cancels, or sends a message lets you respond faster and run your business without constantly checking multiple screens. Thryv Business Center™ Notification Center puts all of your business alerts in one place and lets you choose exactly which notifications you receive, where you receive them, and when. Configuring your notification preferences means you stay informed about the actions that matter most without getting overwhelmed by alerts you don't need.
How to View Your Notifications in Thryv Business Center
To view your notifications, click the bell icon at the top of any screen in Thryv Business Center. The notification panel will open and display all of your notifications in chronological order.

Click the Show Only Unread toggle at the top of the notification panel to filter the list to only notifications you have not yet viewed.

Click Mark All As Read to mark all current notifications as read. After clicking Mark All As Read, the number badge on the bell icon will clear. All notifications will still be visible in the panel when the Show Only Unread toggle is turned off.

How to Configure Your Notification Settings
To open your notification settings, click the bell icon at the top of any screen in Thryv Business Center to open the notification panel. Then click the gear icon inside the notification panel to open the Notification Settings screen.

In the Notification Settings screen, use the checkboxes in each column to turn individual notifications on or off. Each row represents a specific notification type. Each column represents a delivery channel — Mobile Push or In-App. A checked box means that notification is active for that delivery channel.

The two available notification delivery channels are:
Mobile Push — sends the notification as a push notification to your mobile device. The Thryv Business Center mobile app must be installed on your device to receive mobile push notifications. To install the Thryv Business Center mobile app, see How to Install the Thryv Business Center Mobile App.
In-App — displays the notification in the bell icon at the top of all screens in Thryv Business Center.
When you have finished configuring your notification preferences, click the orange Save button in the top right corner of the Notification Settings screen. If you navigate away from the Notification Settings screen without clicking Save, your changes will not be saved.

System Notifications Available in Thryv Business Center
System Notifications are alerts for events that occur within Thryv Business Center that may require your attention. The screenshot below shows the System Notifications section of the Notification Settings screen. System Notifications are grouped into Payment, Scheduling, and Marketing categories, each displayed in its own row with Mobile Push and In-App checkboxes.
Payment System Notifications
The screenshot below shows the Payment notifications subsection within System Notifications. Three payment notification types are listed: Payment Method Added, Overdue Invoice Reminder, and Auto Billing Complete.
Payment Method Added — sends a notification when a client adds a new payment method to their account.
Overdue Invoice Reminder — sends a notification when an invoice becomes overdue. To receive this notification, your invoice settings must be set to Remind Me for overdue invoices. See How to Configure Your Invoice Settings in Thryv Business Center for instructions.
Auto Billing Complete — sends a notification when an automated billing cycle completes. Auto Billing must be enabled in your settings before this notification will trigger. See How to Set Up Automated Billing in Thryv Business Center for instructions.
Scheduling System Notifications
Reminder to Approve Appointment — sends a notification two days after a client books an appointment online if the appointment is set to require manual approval and has not yet been approved.
Blocked Time — sends a notification when a staff member blocks time on their calendar.
Daily Digest for Pending Appointments — sends a daily summary of all appointment requests that are awaiting your approval.
Marketing System Notifications

Scheduled Announcement Sent — sends a notification when a previously scheduled campaign is sent. See How to Schedule an Announcement in Thryv Business Center for instructions on scheduling announcements.
Client Activity Notifications Available in Thryv Business Center
Client Activity Updates are notifications triggered by actions your clients take that may require your attention or response. The screenshot below shows the Client Activity Updates section header in the Notification Settings screen. The section appears below the System Notifications section and uses the same checkbox layout for Mobile Push and In-App delivery channels.
Client Payment Notifications
The screenshot below shows the Payment notifications subsection within Client Activity Updates. Four payment notification types are listed: New Payment Received, New Estimate Approved, New Estimate Rejected, and Package Purchased, each with Mobile Push and In-App checkboxes.
New Payment Received — sends a notification every time a client submits a payment.
New Estimate Approved — sends a notification when a client approves an estimate you sent them.
New Estimate Rejected — sends a notification when a client rejects an estimate you sent them.
Package Purchased — sends a notification when a client purchases one of your packages.
Client Scheduling Notifications
The screenshot below shows the Scheduling notifications subsection within Client Activity Updates. The subsection lists appointment and group event notification types with Mobile Push and In-App checkboxes for each.
New Event Registration — sends a notification when a client registers for a scheduled group event.
Event Attendance Cancelled — sends a notification when a client cancels their registration for a group event.
New Event Waitlist Registration — sends a notification when a client joins the waitlist for a group event.
New Appointment Request — sends a notification when a client requests an appointment. This notification requires your approval before the appointment is added to your calendar.
Appointment Scheduled by Client — sends a notification when a client books an appointment that has been added directly to your calendar without requiring manual approval.
Appointment Request Declined — sends a notification when a client declines an appointment request you sent them.
Appointment Invitation Canceled — sends a notification when an appointment request you sent to a client has expired without a response.
Scheduled Appointment Canceled — sends a notification when a client cancels a previously confirmed appointment.
Appointment Invitation Approved — sends a notification when a client approves an appointment invitation you sent them.
Request to Reschedule Appointment — sends a notification when a client requests to reschedule a confirmed appointment. This requires your approval before the appointment is moved.
Appointment Booking Rescheduled — sends a notification when a client reschedules an existing appointment from their Client Portal. This change is applied automatically without requiring your approval. The option for clients to reschedule appointments must be enabled in your appointment settings for this notification to trigger.
Client Review Notifications
The screenshot below shows the Reviews notifications subsection within Client Activity Updates. One review notification type is listed: New Review Submitted, with Mobile Push and In-App checkboxes.
New Review Submitted — sends a notification when a customer leaves a review on your Thryv Business Center Client Portal. This notification applies only to first-party reviews submitted through the Client Portal. Reviews submitted on third-party sites such as Google or Yelp do not trigger this notification.
Client Message Notifications
The screenshot below shows the Messages notifications subsection within Client Activity Updates. Three message notification types are listed: New Client Portal Form Submitted, New Contact Form Submitted, and New Message Received.
New Client Portal Form Submitted — sends a notification when a client submits any form through your Client Portal.
New Contact Form Submitted — sends a notification when a client completes a contact request form.
New Message Received — sends a notification when a client sends you a message.
Client Document Notifications
The screenshot below shows the Documents notifications subsection within Client Activity Updates. Three document notification types are listed: New Document Shared, New Document Approved, and New Document Declined.
New Document Shared — sends a notification when a client shares a document with you. The shared document will be viewable in your Documents tab and in the client's record.
New Document Approved — sends a notification when a client signs a document you sent through the Signatures feature in Thryv Business Center.
New Document Declined — sends a notification when a client declines to sign a document you sent through the Signatures feature in Thryv Business Center.
How to Enable Mobile Push Notifications
If you have the Thryv Business Center mobile app installed and have enabled Mobile Push notifications in your Notification Settings, you will receive the same notifications directly on your mobile device. The screenshot below shows an example of a Thryv Business Center push notification appearing on a mobile device screen, displaying the notification type and a brief description of the event.
If Mobile Push notifications are enabled in your Thryv Business Center Notification Settings but you are not receiving them on your device, open your device's system settings and confirm that the Thryv Business Center app has permission to display push notifications. Why am I not receiving mobile push notifications even though they are enabled in my settings?
If Mobile Push notifications are enabled in your Thryv Business Center Notification Settings but are not appearing on your device, open your device's system settings and confirm that the Thryv Business Center app has permission to display push notifications. Notification permissions must be granted at both the Thryv Business Center app level and the device system settings level for push notifications to deliver successfully.
Will I be notified about reviews left on Google or Yelp?
No. The New Review Submitted notification in Thryv Business Center applies only to first-party reviews submitted through your Client Portal. Reviews submitted on third-party platforms such as Google, Yelp, or Facebook do not trigger a notification in Thryv Business Center.
Do I need to save my notification settings after making changes?
Yes. After making any changes in the Notification Settings screen, click the orange Save button in the top right corner of the screen. If you navigate away from the Notification Settings screen without clicking Save, your changes will not be applied.
