FAQ
Do I need a Google Business Profile to use Competitor Ranking?
Yes. Competitor Ranking is based on Google organic search data, so having a Google Business Profile ensures your business is visible in the results and can be compared against local competitors. If you don't have one set up yet, you can create one at business.google.com.
What is the difference between my Health Score and Competitor Ranking?
The Health Score provides an internal look at the setup and optimization of your own business profiles. The Competitor Ranking tool provides an external look at your performance relative to other businesses in your area for a specific keyword.
What is the Threat Level on the Local Competitors table?
Threat Level indicates how high a competitor ranks in your area. A green circle and a lower number mean the business ranks very well and is likely a serious competitor for leads. A red circle and higher number mean a lower rank, and that competitor is less likely to garner attention.
Can a competitor with a low ranking still be a threat?
Yes. The Rating metric (average star rating for Google reviews) is an indicator of how likely a business is to be chosen by a potential customer. It is possible for a business to use great reviews to overcome a low ranking.
