Why Connect Thryv to Housecall Pro
Connecting Thryv to Housecall Pro keeps your sales handoff fast and clean so qualified leads turn into booked jobs. Here is what the connection does for you:
- No manual data entry. Each qualified lead is created as a Customer in Housecall Pro automatically, so nobody copies, pastes, or exports lead details between systems.
- Only strong leads reach your team. Leads are filtered by score before they sync, so high-quality prospects land in Housecall Pro and low-scored prospects are held back, so your team works opportunities, not noise.
- No duplicate Customer records. When a Customer with a matching email address or phone number already exists in Housecall Pro, the connection updates that record instead of creating a duplicate.
- Full context travels with the lead. Call summaries and conversation notes are attached directly to the Customer record, so your team has the background they need to follow up without switching tools.
- Your Housecall Pro workflow stays the same. The connection runs in the background, and your team keeps scheduling jobs, sending estimates, and adding notes in Housecall Pro exactly as they do today.
How to Connect Thryv to Housecall Pro
Before You Begin
To connect Thryv to Housecall Pro, you need three things in place:
- An active Thryv account
- A Housecall Pro account on the MAX Plan. This connection is available only to Housecall Pro customers on the MAX Plan tier. To confirm your plan, log in to Housecall Pro and check your subscription settings, or contact Housecall Pro support.
- A Housecall Pro API key. You generate the API key inside your Housecall Pro account during the first setup step below.
Connect Your Accounts
Follow these steps in order to connect Thryv to Housecall Pro:
- Generate your API key in Housecall Pro. Log in to your Housecall Pro account and open your API key settings. Generate a new API key, then copy it. You will paste it into Thryv in the next step.
- Open the Integrations Directory in Thryv. In Thryv, go to the Integrations Directory, find Housecall Pro, and click Install.
- Paste your API key to authenticate. When Thryv prompts you, paste in the Housecall Pro API key you copied. Thryv uses the API key to authenticate and connect the two accounts.
Once you complete these three steps, the connection is active and Thryv begins sending qualified leads to Housecall Pro in near real time.
What Happens After You Connect Housecall Pro
Once the connection is active, it runs in the background. You do not start a sync or move any data by hand. Here is what happens to each lead:
-
Thryv watches for new leads. When a new lead comes in, Thryv checks the lead's score against the filtering rule before sending anything to Housecall Pro.
- A Customer is created or updated in Housecall Pro. For each qualified lead, the connection checks whether a Customer with a matching email address or phone number already exists in Housecall Pro. If a match is found, that Customer record is updated. If no match is found, a new Customer record is created.
- Notes and context are attached. The connection appends the call summary and conversation notes to the Customer record, building a running communication history on that Customer.
- You work the lead in Housecall Pro. Qualified leads appear in Housecall Pro as Customers with their context attached. From there, your team schedules jobs, sends estimates, adds notes, and follows up using your normal Housecall Pro workflow.
Qualified leads reach Housecall Pro in near real time, so your team can follow up while the prospect is still deciding.
Which Leads Are Sent to Housecall Pro
Not every lead is sent to Housecall Pro. The connection filters leads by score so your team sees strong prospects instead of noise. By default:
- Leads scored 3 or higher are sent to Housecall Pro. These are your qualified, high-intent prospects.
- Unscored leads are sent to Housecall Pro. A lead that has not yet received a score is still passed through so it is not lost.
- Leads scored 1 or 2 are held back. Low-scored leads are not sent to Housecall Pro, keeping low-quality prospects out of your team's workflow.
What Information Is Sent to Housecall Pro
When a lead is sent to Housecall Pro, the connection includes the following details on the Customer record:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Address, when available
- Lead score
- Sentiment
- Call conversation summary and key notes, attached as a Customer note
How to Check or Disconnect Your Housecall Pro Connection
You manage the connection from the Integrations Directory in Thryv at any time.
To check the connection, open the Integrations Directory in Thryv and find Housecall Pro. The Integrations Directory shows whether Housecall Pro is currently connected.
To disconnect, open the Integrations Directory, find Housecall Pro, and uninstall the connection. Disconnecting stops new leads from syncing to Housecall Pro and revokes Thryv's access to your Housecall Pro account. Customer records that already exist in Housecall Pro are not affected when you disconnect — disconnecting removes the connection, not your data.
FAQ
How are leads scored?
ThryvAI listens to calls received on your tracked phone numbers from your Thryv program. It listens for "Intent Signals" during the call, such as asking for a quote, mentioning an emergency, or discussing a specific service. It then weighs these signals to determine if the lead is high-priority (Hot) or just an inquiry (Warm). ThryvAI will assign a numerical score to the lead based on the conversation. The scores range from 1 through 5. Use the lead score to prioritize your follow ups so that you are investing your marketing time into the leads that are most likely to convert. Here is how the score is calculated:
- 5 - Client booked an appointment or made a purchase.
- 4 - Productive conversation about services, even if no sale or appointment was made. May include quotes or contact info exchange.
- 3 - Existing customer calling about past work, questions, or to reschedule. Or, minimal interest with no contact info shared.
- 2 - Wrong-fit leads (e.g., outside service area, competitor research) with no clear interest.
- 1 - Spam, sales calls, wrong numbers, unintelligible voicemails, or no clear customer intent.

What plan do I need to connect Thryv to Housecall Pro?
You need a Housecall Pro account on the MAX Plan to use this connection. The connection is not available on lower Housecall Pro plan tiers. To confirm your plan, log in to Housecall Pro and check your subscription settings, or contact Housecall Pro support.
Does the connection create duplicate Customers in Housecall Pro?
No. When a Customer with a matching email address or phone number already exists in Housecall Pro, the connection updates that existing Customer record instead of creating a duplicate. A new Customer record is created only when no match is found.
Will I lose my Housecall Pro Customers if I disconnect?
No. Disconnecting stops new leads from syncing and revokes Thryv's access to your Housecall Pro account, but Customer records that already exist in Housecall Pro are not affected. Disconnecting removes the connection, not your data.
Does the connection send my Housecall Pro data back into Thryv?
The connection sends qualified leads from Thryv to Housecall Pro. It does not pull Housecall Pro Customer or job data back into Thryv.
