By utilizing Text Message Templates within Thryv Text and Voice, you can provide instant, professional responses to common questions without starting from scratch every time. This library of quick replies ensures that your brand voice remains consistent across your entire team, while significantly reducing the time it takes to move a lead through your sales funnel. Whether you are sending a standard greeting or a complex set of instructions, templates turn your most frequent communications into a one-tap business asset.
Access Your Text Message Templates
To create a message template, first click on Comms, and then Text and Voice.
Then, below the new message field, click on the template icon.
Your previously created templates, if any, will appear. Select a template to use, and it will automatically populate the new message field. Or, you will have the option to create a new message template.
Send a Saved Response
After clicking on the template icon, your previously saved templates will appear. Click on the desired template, and the message will automatically populate the new message field.
Create a New Text Message Template
After clicking on the templates icon, click on Manage Templates.
In the window that appears, click on the + icon. You will see New Template added to your list of templates on the left-hand side.
At the top of the window, give your template a Name. This name will not appear to your customers. It will be used in the template menu to select this template. Then, enter the text for your template in the field below.
To use Merge Fields, which will dynamically include personalized information from your contact, click on the (#) icon. Then select from the available merge fields.
Once you're finished, click on Insert.
FAQ
If I use a template in a text message, do I have to send it exactly as-is? Or can I edit once it's inserted.
You can edit a message template before it is sent, you always have full control of what is sent from your account. Remember that editing a template in the message window of a given text message won't edit the template itself. To change the template, you need to return to Manage Templates and edit there.
Can my team members see and use the templates I create?
Yes. Any template created within Thryv Text and Voice is available to all authorized users on your account. This ensures your team provides a consistent brand voice and uses the most up-to-date information when responding to clients.
Is there a limit to how many templates I can save?
There is currently no limit to the number of templates you can create. However, to keep your workflow efficient, we recommend using clear and descriptive names so you can find the right message quickly during a live conversation.
Can I include images or attachments in a template?
Templates are currently designed for text-based messages. If you need to send an image or a document, you should select your text template first and then use the Image or Attachment icons next to the template button to add your files before hitting send.
