You no longer need to switch between apps to respond to customers. All conversations are tracked in one place, attached to the customer's record, so nothing falls through the cracks.
How to Connect Instagram Messenger to Thryv Business Center
Before connecting Instagram Messenger, you must complete two prerequisites. First, your Instagram account must be an Instagram Business Account. Second, your Instagram Business Account must be connected to your Facebook Business Page. Both steps must be completed before the Instagram Messenger App will connect successfully in Thryv Business Center.
To convert your Instagram account to a Business Account, follow the steps in the Instagram guide to creating a Business Profile. To connect your Instagram Business Account to your Facebook Business Page, follow the steps in the Instagram guide to connecting your account to a Facebook Business Page.
Once both prerequisites are complete, follow the steps below to install the Instagram Messenger App in Thryv Business Center.
Step 1. Click App Market in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center. Locate the Instagram Messenger App and click on it to open the app detail page.
The screenshot below shows the Instagram Messenger App as it appears in the App Market. The app tile displays the Instagram logo, the app name, and a brief description. No other Instagram apps are shown on this screen.
Step 2. Click Get This App to begin the installation process.

Step 3. Review the permissions that Thryv Business Center will need to connect to your Instagram account. Check the box to accept the terms and conditions, then click Connect To Instagram Account.
The screenshot below shows the permissions review screen. The screen lists the specific permissions Thryv Business Center will request from Instagram, including access to messages. A checkbox to accept the terms and conditions appears below the permissions list. The Connect To Instagram Account button appears at the bottom of the screen and is only clickable after the checkbox is checked.
You will next be prompted to log in to your Facebook Account, or "continue as" if you are already signed in.
After logging in to Facebook, you will need to connect your business page or pages to Thryv®. To do this, click on Add Pages.
Check the box for the page or pages you want to connect, and click on Next.
Next, review the permissions for connecting your Thryv inbox and Instagram Messenger. Keep in mind that turning off any of these permissions could affect the performance of your Inbox. Once you are finished click on Done.
Click OK on the confirmation screen
You will then see your connected pages listed. Click on Install to complete setup.
Wait for a moment while the install takes place. You will then be redirected back to Thryv.
FAQ
My customers are sending me messages that I'm not seeing, why is that?
Ensure that your customers are not using Vanish Mode on Instagram. Vanish mode is a setting in which messages sent will be automatically deleted shortly after they are opened. Because of the way these messages work, they will not appear in your Thryv Inbox.
I only see my Facebook page connected, not my Instagram page?
That's okay! Thryv connects to your Instagram Business page through your connected Facebook Business Page. Because this is the way that Meta has their page structure organized, it will display the connected Facebook Business Page
Do I have to have my Facebook Business page connected to my Thryv inbox in order to use Instagram Messenger with Thryv?
Not necessarily, you only need to have your Instagram Business page connected with your Facebook Business page.
How long will Instagram Messenger conversations stay active?
Instagram Messenger will stay active for 7 days of inactivity by the customer. After this, the conversation can only be initiated by the customer again.

Why is the Connect To Instagram Account button not working?
The Connect To Instagram Account button will not activate until the terms and conditions checkbox is checked. If the button is still unresponsive after checking the box, confirm that your Instagram account is set up as a Business Account and that it is connected to your Facebook Business Page.
