Why Use Multi-Day Appointments in Thryv Business Center
Multi-day appointments are designed for a single service that takes place over more than one day. When a job or event spans multiple days, creating a single multi-day appointment keeps everything — the schedule, the client confirmation, the payment, and the calendar invite — tied to one event. Your client receives one confirmation email showing the full start and end dates, one ICS calendar file (a standard calendar attachment that adds the appointment to any calendar application), and one payment request for the entire event. Common examples include a roofing installation that takes several days to complete, a weekend conference or class, or a multi-day landscaping project.
How to Start a Multi-Day Appointment in Thryv Business Center
Multi-day appointments can be created from two locations in Thryv Business Center — the Inbox and the Calendar.
How to Create a Multi-Day Appointment From the Inbox
To create a multi-day appointment from the Inbox, select New in the Inbox. From the dropdown menu, select Appointment. Then select the Client for the appointment.
The screen recording above shows the process of starting a new appointment from the Thryv Business Center Inbox. The New button opens a dropdown menu with options including Appointment. After selecting Appointment, the client selector appears to choose the client for the appointment.
How to Create a Multi-Day Appointment From the Calendar
To create a multi-day appointment from the Calendar, use one of the following methods:
Click and drag on the calendar from the appointment start time to the end time to create the appointment block directly on the calendar.
Select Schedule New on the Calendar screen to open the appointment creation form.
After selecting the creation method, select the Client for the appointment.

Selecting a client from this screen opens the appointment details form where the service, start date, end date, and other details are configured.
How to Set the Multi-Day Duration for an Appointment
After selecting the client, configure the appointment details to set the multi-day duration:
Select the service for the appointment.
Select the Start Date to open the date picker calendar.
Select the All Day toggle at the bottom of the date picker to enable the multi-day duration setting.
Select the Start Time, End Date, and End Time for the appointment. The appointment will span from the start time on the start date to the end time on the end date.

Enabling the All Day toggle reveals the End Date and End Time fields needed to configure the full multi-day appointment duration. The form does not display the End Date and End Time fields until the All Day toggle is enabled.
How Multi-Day Appointments Appear on Your Calendar
After a multi-day appointment is created, it appears across the top of the Thryv Business Center calendar spanning the full duration of the appointment from start date to end date. The appointment block displays at the top of the calendar view rather than in the time-slot rows used for standard appointments.

What Your Clients See for a Multi-Day Appointment
When a multi-day appointment is created, your client receives a confirmation email showing the start date and the total length of the appointment. The confirmation email is sent according to your standard appointment confirmation settings. Clients can select Reply/View Online in the confirmation email to view the full appointment details online, including both the start date and time and the end date and time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does this article cover?
This article covers how to create and manage multi-day appointments in Thryv Business Center, including how to set a multi-day appointment from the Inbox and Calendar, what your clients will see in their confirmation, and how payments, confirmations, and ICS calendar files work for multi-day appointments. This article does not cover recurring appointments that repeat weekly or monthly. For help setting up recurring appointments, see how to set up recurring appointments in Thryv Business Center.
How does payment work for a multi-day appointment?
A multi-day appointment is treated as a single event in Thryv Business Center. The client is charged one time for the entire appointment — not once per day. The price set for the service applies to the full appointment and one pending payment is created for the total amount.
How do client confirmations and follow-up messages work for multi-day appointments?
Confirmation messages are sent before the appointment start date and follow-up messages are sent after the appointment end date. No messages are sent during the days of the appointment while it is in progress. This behavior applies to all automated confirmation and follow-up messages configured in your Thryv Business Center account settings.
Does the client receive a separate ICS calendar file for each day of the appointment?
No. Only one ICS calendar file is sent for the entire multi-day appointment. The ICS file covers the full appointment duration from the start date and time to the end date and time and adds the full appointment as a single event to the client's calendar application.
Can I convert an existing single-day appointment to a multi-day appointment?
Yes. To convert an existing appointment to a multi-day appointment, navigate to the appointment and select Reschedule. Then set the Start Date and Time and the End Date and Time to span the desired number of days.
Can the client reschedule a multi-day appointment?
Yes. Clients can reschedule a multi-day appointment in the same way as any other appointment, provided your online booking settings allow clients to reschedule. To review or update your client rescheduling permissions, see how to configure online booking options in Thryv Business Center.
