What Is the Thryv Text and Voice Platform?
Thryv Text and Voice enables businesses to send and receive both SMS and MMS messages from a dedicated business number directly within the Keap account. All communication is consolidated into one platform, eliminating the need to manage multiple channels. The platform serves both new subscribers and existing users transitioning from Keap Marketing Number or Keap Business Line accounts.
Who Can Use Thryv Text and Voice?
Thryv Text and Voice is available to all users on Keap Pro, Max, and Ultimate plans. It supports both new number registration and migration from an existing Keap Business Line number.
What Is Required to Verify a Business for Texting?
All businesses must complete verification before texting is enabled. This requirement is mandated by mobile carriers including Verizon and T-Mobile. The following information is required and must exactly match the business's tax filings:
Legal business name
Tax ID — for example, EIN for US businesses or ABN for Australia
Physical business address
Branded website and business email address — generic email addresses are not accepted
Opt-in examples demonstrating how customers consent to receive texts — by text and by website

Verification status can be checked by navigating to Settings, then selecting Text Message Verification. The status will show one of the following:

Port an Existing Keap Number to Thryv Text and Voice
Existing Keap Business Line numbers can be ported to Thryv Text and Voice, preserving the existing number and avoiding the need to update contact details across websites and marketing materials.
To port an existing number, begin the Text and Voice setup as normal and select Port Existing Number. Business verification forms must be submitted, including a valid EIN and matching legal business name.
Most ports complete within a few business days. Landline-to-mobile transfers or specific regional requirements may take longer.
Compliance Requirements for Texting
Carriers and regulators enforce strict standards to protect consumers from unsolicited messaging. The following requirements apply to all accounts:
All marketing and conversational messages require explicit opt-in consent from the recipient.
Separate opt-in checkboxes are required for marketing messages and transactional messages. Transactional messages are tied to a specific business action such as an appointment reminder or payment receipt. Marketing messages are any messages not tied to a specific business interaction.
Opt-out instructions must be included in every message.
