Your reporting dashboard at Thryv Reporting Center™ uses standardized logic to calculate date ranges, so your data is consistent every time you pull a report. Whether you are reconciling revenue against bank deposits, checking in on weekly performance, or planning ahead with forward-looking ranges, knowing exactly how each date range is calculated helps you trust what you are looking at.
This article covers how each preset date range is defined, how the reporting dashboard at Thryv Reporting Center™ groups data on charts and tables, and the exact boundaries used in each calculation. It does not cover how to build custom reports or how to export your data.

How Each Preset Date Range Is Calculated
Each preset date range uses a fixed boundary calculation so your data is consistent every time you run the same report. Weeks always start on Monday. Months and quarters always use full calendar periods ending with the most recently completed period, not the current one in progress. The definitions below explain exactly which days are included in each preset date range.
7D (Last 7 days): Includes the 6 days before today through today. For example, if today is Saturday, February 1, 2025, the 7D range covers January 26, 2025 through February 1, 2025.
MTD (Month to date): Includes the first day of the current calendar month through today. For example, if today is February 1, 2025, the MTD range covers February 1, 2025 through February 1, 2025.
4W (Last 4 weeks): Includes the 3 full weeks before last week through the end of last week. Weeks run Monday through Sunday. For example, if today is Saturday, February 1, 2025, the 4W range covers December 30, 2024 through January 26, 2025. The chart displays the Monday of each week: December 30, January 6, January 13, and January 20.
12W (Last 12 weeks): Includes the 11 full weeks before last week through the end of last week. Weeks run Monday through Sunday.
6M (Last 6 months): Includes the 5 full calendar months before last month through the end of last month.
12M (Last 12 months): Includes the 11 full calendar months before last month through the end of last month.
36M (Last 36 months): Includes the 8 full quarters before last quarter through the end of last quarter.
Next 7D: Includes today through 6 days from today.
Next 4W: Includes this week through 3 weeks from this week. Weeks run Monday through Sunday. For example, if today is Saturday, February 1, 2025, the Next 4W range covers January 27, 2025 through February 23, 2025. The chart displays the Monday of each week: January 27, February 3, February 10, and February 17.
Next 12M: Includes this full calendar month through 11 months from this month.
How Custom Date Selection Groups Your Data
The reporting dashboard also allows you to select a custom date range instead of using a preset. When you select a custom date range in the Thryv Reporting Center™, the dashboard automatically determines how to group your data on charts and tables based on the total number of days in the range you selected. You do not choose the grouping, the Thryv Reporting Center sets it automatically based on the length of the range. The table below shows which grouping applies to each custom date range length.
| Custom Date Range Length | How Data Is Grouped on Charts and Tables |
|---|---|
| 1 to 28 days | Group by day |
| 29 to 84 days | Group by week |
| 85 to 396 days | Group by month |
| 397 days or more | Group by month |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my 4W or 12W range not include this week?
The 4W and 12W preset date ranges are calculated using only full completed weeks. The current week is excluded because it is still in progress and does not represent a complete data set. The most recent week included in a 4W or 12W range always ends on the most recently completed Sunday.
Why does my 6M or 12M range not include this month?
The 6M and 12M preset date ranges are calculated using only full completed calendar months. The current month is excluded because it is still in progress and does not represent a complete data set. The most recent month included in a 6M or 12M range always ends on the last day of the most recently completed calendar month.
What is the maximum custom date range I can select?
The Thryv Reporting Center does not impose a documented maximum on custom date range selection. However, any custom range of 397 days or more groups data by month on charts and tables. If you need to analyze data beyond 397 days, use the 36M preset date range, which covers the last 36 months grouped by quarter.
Why does my chart grouping change when I select a different date range?
The Thryv Reporting Center automatically sets chart and table grouping based on the length of the date range selected. Shorter ranges group data by day for granular detail, while longer ranges group data by week, month, or quarter to keep charts readable. You cannot manually override the grouping — the Thryv Reporting Center sets it based on the date range length. To see data grouped differently, select a date range that falls within a different grouping threshold. To review which grouping applies to each range length, see the Custom Date Selection grouping table in the How Custom Date Selection Groups Your Data section of this article.
