Why Connecting Thryv and Keap Automates the Entire Lead Journey
Business growth requires both getting found online and following up with leads quickly before they go elsewhere. Thryv manages online presence and captures incoming leads, while Keap converts those leads into sales using CRM and automation. Without an integration, moving leads from one platform to the other requires manual data entry and delays follow-up. ThryvAI Lead Flow connects Thryv Marketing Center™ and Keap to create a single automated workflow from the moment a lead is captured. When a lead comes in through Thryv, the integration automatically creates a contact in Keap, scores the lead using AI, creates tasks for action items discussed, and starts the appropriate follow-up automation — with no manual steps required.
How to Connect Thryv and Keap
The integration can be set up from either Thryv or Keap. Both methods produce the same result. Sign in to both accounts before starting — no additional information is required beyond the login credentials for each platform.
Set Up From Keap

Select Settings in the Keap navigation, then select Integrations.

Locate the Thryv Marketing Center integration and select Connect.

In the window that appears, sign in with Thryv credentials to authorize the connection.
After signing in, proceed to the Agree and Continue step to complete the connection.

After signing in to Thryv, a popup invitation to set up the integration will appear. Select Connect to Keap to begin.
Note: If the popup is dismissed, the integration can be set up at any time from Keap Settings.

In the window that appears, sign in with Keap credentials to authorize the connection.
Complete the Connection

Select the checkbox to agree to the terms of service, then select Agree and Continue.

Select Yes, Connect to finalize the integration between Thryv and Keap.
The integration is now active. Thryv will manage online presence and incoming leads, while Keap will automatically follow up with those leads using automation.
How Leads From Thryv Are Added to Keap
When a lead is captured in Thryv, it is automatically added to Keap as a new contact and the pre-built automation starts. Each lead arrives with a scorecard containing all captured information. Select Play on the audio player to hear the full call recording. Below the recording, ThryvAI summarizes the conversation with specific attention to job details and action items.

ThryvAI assigns a numerical score from 1 to 5 based on the conversation. The score determines which automation triggers in Keap:
5 — The client booked an appointment or made a purchase.
4 — A productive conversation about services occurred, which may include quotes or contact information exchange, but no sale or appointment was made.
3 — An existing customer called about past work, had questions, or called to reschedule. Alternatively, a new contact showed minimal interest and shared no contact information.
2 — A wrong-fit lead such as someone outside the service area or a competitor researching the business, with no clear interest.
1 — Spam, sales calls, wrong numbers, voicemails only, or unintelligible recordings.
Note: The ThryvAI lead score does not correspond to the Lead Scoring feature in Keap. The ThryvAI score is used only to route the lead to the correct automation sequence. Keap lead scoring can still be configured and used independently.
What Is Added to the Keap Contact Record for Each Thryv Lead
Each lead captured from Thryv includes the following components on the Keap contact record:
Tags — The tag Thryv MC Lead is applied to identify the lead source, and the AI Score tag is applied to route the lead to the correct automation.
Automations — The appropriate automation is started automatically based on the AI lead score.
Tasks — ThryvAI adds tasks for action items discussed during the call, including callbacks, appointments, quotes, and similar items.
Lead Attribution — The contact record identifies Thryv as the lead source.
Notes — The AI-generated summary of the call is saved in the Notes section of the contact record.
High Quality Leads Group — Leads with an AI score of 4 or 5 are automatically added to a contact group called High Quality Leads.
Note: Thryv reporting refreshes nightly. Leads may appear in Keap before they appear in the Thryv reporting dashboard.
How the Thryv AI Leads Follow Up Automation Works
When the integration is enabled, a pre-built Advanced Automation called Thryv AI Leads Follow Up is automatically added to Keap. This automation handles the first step of routing leads by AI quality score. The routing logic is pre-configured — additional When Triggers and Then Actions can be connected to define what happens to each lead type after routing.

How Leads Are Assigned to Pipelines by AI Score
Based on the ThryvAI lead score, each lead is automatically assigned to a pipeline stage in Keap. The default pipeline mapping is:
AI Score 5 — Booked or Purchase
AI Score 4 — Hot Lead
AI Score 3 — Possible Lead
AI Score 1 or 2 — Not Interested
How to Configure Next Steps for Each Lead Type
To complete the automation, locate Thryv AI Leads Follow Up under Advanced Automations in Keap.
The beginning stages of the automation are pre-configured to route leads by AI score. Add the desired When Triggers and Then Actions for each lead type to define what happens next. To add steps, either select the blue plus icon to add a Then Action or the green plus icon to add a When Trigger, or drag When Triggers and Then Actions from the left-hand panel onto the canvas. Connect steps with arrows to define the sequence order.

How When Triggers and Then Actions Work Together
Automations in Keap are built on a When/Then structure. A When is the event that starts the automation — for example, a contact submitting a form, a payment being made, or a tag being applied. A Then is the action the system takes in response — for example, sending an email, creating a task, or moving a contact to a pipeline stage. Connecting a When to a Then creates an automated workflow that runs without manual intervention.
Example Automation Scenarios for Thryv Leads
Scenario 1 — High-Quality Lead Follow-Up (AI Score 5)
When the tag "AI Score 5" is applied to a contact (indicating the client booked an appointment or made a purchase)
Then send an immediate SMS message to thank the customer.
Then send an internal notification email to the sales owner.
Then move the contact to the Booked or Purchase stage in the Keap Pipeline.
Scenario 2 — Follow-Up for High-Potential Leads (AI Score 4)
When the tag "AI Score 4" is applied to a contact (indicating a productive conversation occurred)
Then apply a tag "Follow Up: Next Day Call" to flag the lead for the sales team.
Then add the contact to a short email nurture sequence.
Then delay the next action until the following business day at 10:00 AM.
Then create a high-priority task for the sales team to call the lead and review the ThryvAI summary.

Can the pre-built Thryv AI Leads Follow Up automation be edited?
Yes. The Thryv AI Leads Follow Up automation is designed as a starting point. The steps can be edited and expanded so that leads flow through the business pipeline in the way that best fits the business.
Do leads captured before the integration was set up transfer to Keap?
No. Once the integration is active, leads begin transferring immediately. Leads captured in Thryv before the integration was enabled are not transferred to Keap.
Can the integration tags be changed or renamed in Keap?
No. The tags used by the integration — including Thryv MC Lead and the AI Score tags — must remain consistent for the integration to function correctly and cannot be edited. Additional tags can be applied to leads in Keap after they are synced from Thryv.
