Why Use Anchor Links on Your Landing Page
When a landing page is long, visitors sometimes scroll past your form or call-to-action without taking action. Anchor links let you add a button anywhere on the page that jumps the visitor directly to a specific section — such as your lead capture form — with a single click. This keeps visitors moving toward conversion without requiring them to scroll back up or hunt for the form themselves.
How to Add an Anchor Link Button to a Landing Page in Keap
-
Add a call-to-action button to the section of your landing page where you want the anchor link to appear. For example, place a button at the bottom of your landing page that jumps visitors back up to the lead capture form at the top.
The screenshot below shows a landing page in the Keap landing page builder with a call-to-action button added to the bottom section of the page. The button appears as a styled button element within the page layout. The lead capture form appears in a separate section above the button on the same page.
-
Click on the button to open its settings. Then click Anchor to a section from the button settings options.
The screenshot below shows the button settings panel open in the Keap landing page builder after clicking a call-to-action button. The Anchor to a section option appears as a selectable option in the button settings panel. Other button action options appear in the same panel above and below the Anchor to a section option.
-
Click the section of your landing page you want the button to scroll to when clicked. The selected section becomes the anchor destination for the button.
The screenshot below shows the landing page in the Keap landing page builder with the section selection step active. The available sections of the landing page are highlighted or labeled to indicate they are selectable as anchor destinations. Clicking a section sets it as the destination for the anchor link button.
The anchor link is now configured. When a visitor clicks the button on the published landing page, the page will scroll automatically to the section you selected in step 3.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this article cover?
This article covers how to add an anchor link button to a landing page in Keap™ so that clicking the button scrolls the visitor to a specific section of the same page. This article does not cover creating landing pages from scratch or configuring other button action types. For help building landing pages in Keap, visit the Keap Help Center.
Can I anchor a button to a section on a different page?
No. The Anchor to a section option links a button to a section on the same landing page only. To link a button to a different page, use the standard button link option and enter the URL of the destination page instead of using the anchor option.
Can I add more than one anchor link button to the same landing page?
Yes. You can add multiple anchor link buttons to the same landing page, each configured to scroll to a different section. This is useful for long landing pages with multiple sections where you want to give visitors quick navigation options throughout the page.
Do I need to republish my landing page after adding an anchor link?
Yes. After configuring an anchor link button, click Publish or Republish in the landing page builder to make the changes live. The anchor link will not function on the published page until the updated version has been published.
