Frequently Asked Questions
What does this article cover?
This article covers how to enable Caller ID for Keap Business Line, how incoming calls are identified, and how to troubleshoot Caller ID issues.
Caller ID is not working. What should be checked?
Check the following items to confirm Keap Business Line Caller ID is configured correctly:
Notifications must be enabled for the Keap app in the device settings.
The Keap app must have permission to access the device contacts.
Caller ID only displays a contact's name after an outgoing call has been made or a message has been sent to that number through Keap Business Line. Contacts called or messaged only through other channels will not be recognized.
The device must have an active internet connection when the call arrives. If the incoming call notification reaches the device after the call has already connected, Caller ID displays "Keap Phone Call" instead of the contact name.
Contacts report that Caller ID does not identify the business when called from the Keap Business Line. What can be done?
Keap does not control what is displayed on a contact's Caller ID when a call is placed from Keap Business Line. To improve outbound Caller ID recognition, make the Business Line number visible on public directories and platforms such as Google Business Profile, Yelp, social media, and the business website. Phone service providers use these sources to identify and display business numbers.
