Why Manage Deals from the Contact Record
You can create, view, and edit deals directly from a contact record without navigating away to the Sales Pipeline page. This is useful when you are already reviewing a contact and want to create a deal or update an existing one in context — keeping all the information about that contact and their deals visible in one place.
How to Create a New Deal from a Contact Record
On the contact record, click the More button to open the action menu and select Create deal with contact.
The More button is located in the action bar on the contact record. Clicking it opens a drop-down menu with additional actions including Create deal with contact.
In the deal creation panel, fill in the deal details — including the deal name, pipeline stage, estimated close date, and deal value — and click Create deal.
The deal creation panel displays the fields needed to configure the new deal. The contact is automatically associated with the deal. Click Create deal to save the deal and add it to the pipeline.
After the deal is created, it appears in the Contact activity panel on the contact record so you can access it from the same page at any time.
The Contact activity panel displays the new deal as an entry with the deal name, stage, and value. Clicking the deal entry opens the deal detail view.
How to View or Edit an Existing Deal from a Contact Record
On the contact record, locate the deal in the Contact activity panel and click on it to open the deal detail view.
The Contact activity panel lists all deals associated with the contact. Clicking a deal entry opens the deal detail view without leaving the contact record.
In the deal detail view, click Edit deal to open the full deal editor and make changes to any deal field.
The Edit deal button opens the full deal editor where you can update the deal name, pipeline, stage, estimated close date, value, and assigned owner.
You can also update the deal's status or stage directly from the deal detail view without opening the full editor — use the status and stage selectors to make quick changes inline.
The Stage and Status selectors are displayed directly on the deal detail view. Clicking either selector opens a drop-down to choose a new stage or status. Changes take effect immediately without requiring you to open the full deal editor.
