Connecting your Keap account to your WordPress site allows contact data from your WordPress opt-in forms to flow directly into your CRM automatically. Once connected, every visitor who submits a form on your WordPress site is added as a new contact record in your CRM and any follow-up automations you have configured will begin immediately.
Important Limitation Before You Begin
You can only connect your Keap account to one WordPress website at a time. Connecting your Keap account to more than one WordPress site will prevent new contact records from being created. The Keap WordPress plugin does not support multi-site WordPress installations.
What You Can Do in the Email Accounts Tab
The Email Accounts tab in the WordPress plugin sidebar lets you manage your Keap connection. From the Email Accounts tab you can initialize a new connection to your Keap account on your first visit, view the current status of your Keap connection, and deactivate the existing connection to your Keap account.
How to Connect Your Keap Account to Your WordPress Site
- Locate your API key inside your Keap account. See how to find your Keap API key if you are not sure where to find it. Your API key is a 32-digit encrypted key that serves as the secure credential the WordPress plugin uses to access your CRM.
- Copy your 32-digit API key from your Keap account.
- Open your WordPress admin panel and click Infusionsoft in the left-hand navigation menu. Then click Settings to open the plugin settings page. Paste your API key into the API Key field.
- Enter your application name in the application name field. Your application name is the prefix of your Keap application URL. For example, if your application URL is abc123.infusionsoft.com, then abc123 is your application name.
- Click the Authorize button to establish the connection between your WordPress site and your Keap account.
- Click Save and Exit to save the connection settings. Your Keap account is now connected to your WordPress site and contact data from your opt-in forms will begin flowing into your CRM automatically.
