Why Sending Emails from Your Own Domain Builds Trust with Your Contacts
Emails sent from a generic address are less likely to be trusted — and more likely to land in spam. When you verify your domain in Keap™ and customize your email from address, every broadcast and campaign email you send comes from an address like yourname@yourdomain.com instead of a shared sending address. This builds credibility with your contacts, improves email deliverability, and reinforces your brand with every message you send.
How to Verify Your Domain and Set Up a Custom Email From Address in Keap
To send emails from a custom address at your own domain, you must first verify your domain in Keap™ Settings. Once your domain is verified, you can select it as the from address when creating a broadcast or campaign email. Follow the steps below to complete the setup.
-
Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner of your Keap™ dashboard, then click Settings from the dropdown menu.
The screenshot below shows the profile icon dropdown menu open with the Settings option visible. The profile icon is located in the upper-right corner of the Keap™ dashboard and opens a dropdown that includes Settings as a selectable option.
-
Inside Settings, scroll down to the Domains section.

Once your domain has been verified, you can use a custom from address when creating a broadcast or campaign email. When setting up a broadcast or campaign email, select Customize email address in the Sender step.
The screenshot below shows the Sender step of the broadcast or campaign email setup with the Customize email address option visible. The Customize email address option appears in the Sender step only after at least one domain has been verified in Settings.
-
Select your verified domain from the list of available domains. Then enter your Display name — the name that will appear as the sender name in your contact's inbox — and your Email username — the part of the email address that appears before the @ symbol.
The screenshot below shows the custom email address configuration fields after selecting Customize email address in the Sender step. The fields displayed are the domain selector, the Display name field, and the Email username field. The full from address is formed by combining the Email username and the selected verified domain.
Click Save to save your custom email address configuration.
Click Save again in the Sender step to confirm your sender settings and continue building your broadcast or campaign email.

What does this article cover?
This article covers how to verify a custom email domain in Keap™ Settings and how to use a verified domain as a custom from address when sending broadcast or campaign emails. This article does not cover how to create a broadcast email or a campaign email. For broadcast email setup instructions, see how to create and send an Email Broadcast in Keap.
Can I use a custom from address before verifying my domain?
No. The Customize email address option only appears in the Sender step of a broadcast or campaign email after at least one domain has been verified in Keap™ Settings. Complete the domain verification process in the Domains section of Settings before attempting to set up a custom from address.
What is the Display name field used for?
The Display name is the sender name that appears in your contact's email inbox next to the from address. For example, if your Display name is "Acme Plumbing" and your from address is info@acmeplumbing.com, your contacts will see "Acme Plumbing" as the sender name in their inbox. Use your business name or the name your contacts are most likely to recognize as the Display name.
What is the Email username field?
The Email username is the part of the from address that appears before the @ symbol. For example, if you want your from address to be info@yourdomain.com, enter info in the Email username field and select yourdomain.com from the verified domain list. The full from address is formed by combining the Email username you enter with the verified domain you select.
