This article covers how to add and configure a Quote Status Goal in the Keap™ automation builder, including the three quote statuses that can trigger the goal and how to connect the goal to a sequence. Why Quote Status Goals Help You Follow Up at the Right Moment
When a prospect receives, views, or accepts a quote, each of those moments represents a meaningful signal about their level of interest and readiness to move forward. Following up manually after each quote interaction is inconsistent and time-consuming. The Quote Status Goal in the Keap automation builder lets you trigger a sequence automatically when a quote reaches a specific status — so the right follow-up message is sent at exactly the right moment without requiring manual action. A Quote Status Goal can be satisfied when a quote is sent to the prospect, viewed online by the prospect, or accepted by the prospect.
Quote Statuses That Can Trigger a Quote Status Goal
A Quote Status Goal can be configured to trigger when a quote reaches any one of the following statuses:
Sent — The quote email has been sent to the prospect. Use this status to trigger an immediate follow-up or confirmation sequence after a quote is delivered.
Viewed — The prospect has opened and viewed the quote online. Use this status to trigger a follow-up sequence at the moment the prospect shows active interest in the quote.
Accepted — The prospect has accepted the quote. Use this status to trigger an onboarding sequence, a payment request, or a thank-you message after the quote is approved.
How to Add and Configure a Quote Status Goal in Keap
Follow these steps to add a Quote Status Goal to a campaign and connect it to a sequence in the Keap automation builder.
-
Drag the Quote Status goal from the goals panel onto the campaign canvas in the Keap automation builder.
The screenshot above shows the Keap automation builder campaign canvas with the Quote Status goal being placed onto the canvas. The goals panel on the left displays the available goal types. The Quote Status goal appears as a block on the canvas after being dropped into position.
-
Optional — Rename the goal: Double-click the name displayed below the goal icon on the canvas to enter a custom name. A custom name helps identify the goal's purpose when working with multiple goals on the same campaign canvas.

-
Open the goal settings by double-clicking the Quote Status goal block on the canvas to open the goal configuration panel. Select the quote status — Sent, Viewed, or Accepted — that will satisfy the goal and trigger the connected sequence.
The screenshot above shows the Quote Status goal settings panel in the Keap automation builder. The panel displays the three available quote status options — Sent, Viewed, and Accepted. Selecting one of these options configures the goal to be satisfied when a quote reaches that status.
Select Save to apply the quote status configuration to the goal. Then connect the goal to the appropriate sequence on the campaign canvas and publish the campaign to make the goal active.
How Quote Status Goals Interact With Purchase Goals
A Purchase Goal configured as a campaign entry point can also be triggered when a quote is paid online — provided the quote includes the same product specified in the Purchase Goal. This applies whether the Purchase Goal is set to trigger on a specific product or on any product. An entry point is a goal in a campaign that allows contacts to enter the campaign — the first goal in a campaign is always an entry point, and subsequent goals can also be configured as entry points.
The screenshot above shows the Keap automation builder campaign canvas with a Purchase Goal configured as an entry point alongside a Quote Status goal. When a prospect pays a quote online and the quote includes the same product specified in the Purchase Goal, the Purchase Goal entry point is triggered in addition to the Quote Status goal. This behavior applies to both specific-product and any-product Purchase Goal configurations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this article cover?
This article covers how to add and configure a Quote Status Goal in the Keap automation builder, including the three quote statuses that can trigger the goal and how to connect the goal to a sequence. This article does not cover how to create quotes in Keap. For help creating a quote, see how to create a quote in Keap.
What are the three quote statuses that can trigger a Quote Status Goal?
A Quote Status Goal can be configured to trigger on one of three statuses — Sent (the quote email was sent to the prospect), Viewed (the prospect opened and viewed the quote online), or Accepted (the prospect accepted the quote). Only one status can be selected per goal. To trigger different sequences on different quote statuses, add a separate Quote Status Goal for each status on the campaign canvas.
Can a quote payment trigger a Purchase Goal in the same campaign?
Yes. If a quote is paid online and the quote includes the same product specified in a Purchase Goal configured as a campaign entry point, the Purchase Goal will also be triggered. This applies to Purchase Goals set to trigger on a specific product as well as those set to trigger on any product.
Can I trigger different sequences for different quote statuses in the same campaign?
Yes. Add a separate Quote Status Goal for each quote status that should trigger a different sequence. For example, add one Quote Status Goal configured for the Viewed status connected to a follow-up sequence, and a second Quote Status Goal configured for the Accepted status connected to an onboarding sequence. Each goal triggers its connected sequence independently when the configured quote status is reached.
