This guide is for contractors whose clients have chosen to pay them through Thryv Workforce Center payroll software. If your client has sent you this guide, you will need to complete the required information in order to receive payment.
Your client will send you an onboarding invitation by email. When you receive it, click Complete Your Onboarding to get started.
You will be brought to the onboarding wizard. First, confirm the pre-filled information indicating whether you are an individual or business contractor, along with your name. Enter any missing information, then click Save & Continue to proceed to the next step.
Next, enter your home or business address (as applicable). This information is used for tax documentation purposes.
If you are an individual contractor, you will also be required to enter your tax elections. To complete this step, you will need the following:
- Your total household income
- Most recent pay stub (if applicable)
- Most recent tax return (if applicable)
- A W-4 form to calculate the totals — use the link provided to download it
On the subsequent screens, you will enter your filing status, income from other jobs, dependent information, and any other tax adjustments. Depending on your state, you may also be required to enter state tax information.
Once your tax information is complete, set up your payment options to ensure you are paid correctly. Select whether you would like to set up Direct Deposit or Receive a Physical Check. If you choose to receive a physical check, no further information will be needed in this section. The check will come from your client, and you will need to make arrangements with them directly to determine how it will be delivered to you.
If you select direct deposit, you will need to connect your bank account. You can connect instantly using your online banking credentials with Plaid, or manually enter your account number and routing number.

First, select your bank from the list, or find it by searching. If your bank does not appear, this means your bank does not connect to Plaid, and you will have to verify manually.

Click Allow to grant the necessary permissions to verify your bank account.

Verify Your Bank Account Manually
To verify manually, first select your account type and enter your routing and account number. You can locate your account number and routing number at the bottom of a check, or on your bank statement.
In the next section, you will fill out and sign any necessary tax documents. The documents needed may vary based on whether you are an individual or a business, and your state taxes. Click on a form to complete and sign it. When all forms are finished, click on Save and Continue.
Finally, review the information submitted and double-check for accuracy. When you are finished, click on Submit Enrollment.
Note: Check the information here carefully, as once this information is submitted, you will not be able to make changes. It can only be changed by your client. You will need to contact them if changes are necessary.
FAQ
Can I go back and change my information later?
Once this onboarding form is submitted, any changes will need to be made by your client. Contact your client if a change needs to be made to your information.
Can anyone at my client's business see my information?
Any information submitted can be seen by a staff member with Admin permission in Thryv Workforce Center payroll software.
Do I have to set up direct deposit?
No, you have the option to get paid by paper check. In this case, the check will come from your client.
