What the Thryv Gmail App Does
The Thryv Gmail App is available in the App Market and installs the Thryv CRM as a shortcut in your Google Apps menu. Once installed, the app appears on the right-hand rail of your Gmail account and gives you one-click access to your CRM without leaving your inbox. The Thryv Gmail App does the following:
- Automatically detects contacts from your CRM and displays the matching client card when you open an email from that contact.
- Adds new contacts to your CRM with one click, using contact details pre-populated from the email.
- Provides direct links to appointments, payments, invoices, and notes for each client, all from within Gmail.
How to Install the Thryv Gmail App
To install the Thryv Gmail App, click App Market in the left-hand navigation of your Thryv account. Find the Gmail app in the app list and click the app tile. Click Launch This App to be redirected to the Thryv app page on the Google Workspace Marketplace.
On the Google Workspace Marketplace page, click Install.
Click Continue to grant the Thryv app permission to connect to your Gmail account. A list of your Google accounts will appear. Click the Google account you want to connect to the Thryv Gmail App. If the account you want to connect is not listed, click Use Another Account and sign in to the correct account.
A pop-up will appear listing the items Thryv needs access to in your Google account. Click Allow to continue.
A confirmation screen will appear. Click Done to complete the installation.
Open your Gmail account. If you are already in Google Chrome, click the grid icon in the top-right corner of the screen, then click Gmail. The Thryv app icon will appear on the right-hand menu in your Gmail account.
Click the Thryv app icon on the right-hand menu. The Thryv app panel will open on the right side of the screen. Click Connect to Thryv to link the app to your Thryv account.
Enter your Thryv login credentials to sign in to your Thryv account.
A success message will appear confirming that the Thryv Gmail App has been successfully connected to your Thryv account.
How to Add a New Client from Gmail
To add a new client to your CRM directly from Gmail, click the Thryv logo on the right-hand menu to open the Thryv Gmail App panel. Click Add New Client.
The contact details from the email you have open will be pre-populated in the available fields. Review the pre-populated details, add or edit any fields as needed, then click Add New Client to save the new client to your CRM.
To check whether a contact is already in your CRM before adding them, click Search Clients in the Thryv Gmail App panel and type the contact's name or email address.
If no matching client is found, an option to add the contact will appear. The contact details from the email will be pre-populated in the available fields. Review the fields, make any edits needed, then click Add New Contact to save the contact to your CRM.
How to View an Existing Client's Information from Gmail
When a client who already exists in your CRM sends you an email, open the email in Gmail and click the Thryv logo on the right-hand menu. The client's card will appear in the Thryv Gmail App panel on the right side of the screen.
From the client card in the Thryv Gmail App panel, you can view the client's important details, notes, and interaction history with your business. You can also start a new appointment, estimate, invoice, or payment for the client directly from the panel without leaving Gmail.
How to Use the Thryv Gmail App on a Mobile Phone
On a mobile phone, the Thryv Gmail App is accessible from the menu at the bottom of the Gmail screen. Click the Thryv logo in the bottom menu to open the Thryv Gmail App panel. From the panel, you can add a new client or view an existing client's card to see the client's interaction history with your business.
How to Inject an Email into a Thryv Conversation
The Thryv Gmail App lets you save emails from Gmail directly into the corresponding client's conversation in your CRM. When an email is injected, the email content appears in the client's conversation thread in Thryv. If the contact has associated work items or interactions in Thryv, the email will be injected into the most recent interaction.
To inject an email into a Thryv conversation, follow these steps:
- Open the email in Gmail that you want to inject into Thryv.
- Click the Thryv logo on the right-hand menu to open the Thryv Gmail App panel.
- Click Save Email to Thryv in the Thryv Gmail App panel.
To view the injected email in Thryv, click the conversation icon on the client's card in the Thryv Gmail App panel, then click View. You will be taken to the client's conversation in Thryv where the injected email content is visible.
How to Uninstall the Thryv Gmail App
The Thryv Gmail App must be uninstalled from the Google Workspace Marketplace, not from within Thryv. To uninstall the app, navigate to the Thryv app page on the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Uninstall.
A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to confirm the uninstall. Click Uninstall again to confirm and remove the Thryv Gmail App from your Google account.
