What is the Gmail App?
The Gmail app is an app available in the Thryv App Market that installs the Thryv CRM web app as a shortcut in your Google Apps menu. It creates a one-click connection from Gmail to Thryv to import a customer's information or view a customer's client card in Thryv to see their full history of interaction with your business.
What does the Gmail App do?
- Automatically detects contacts in your Thryv CRM to proactively present your CRM on every message.
- Quickly add contacts with one-click to eliminate manual data entry
- Direct link to important appointments, payments, invoices, and more right from within Gmail
Navigate to the App Market > Select the Gmail App > Select Launch this App.
You will be redirected to the Thryv App on the Google Workspace Marketplace.
Select continue to give the Thryv App permission to connect to your Gmail account.
Google will pop up a list of your google account(s). Select the preferred Gmail account.
(If you do not see the account that you'd like to connect to, select use another account, and proceed to sign in to the other account.)
A pop up of items that Thryv needs access to will appear. Select Allow to continue.
Your new Thryv app has been successfully installed! Select done.
Now navigate to your Gmail account. (If you already in Google Chrome, select the grid at the top right, then select Gmail.)
The Thryv App appears on the right-hand menu.
Select the new Thryv App. It will pop out from the right-hand side of the screen.
Now it is time to connect to your Thryv account. Select Connect to Thryv.
Log in to Thryv with your Thryv credentials.
You will see the success message below once you have successfully completed the installation.

How to Use the Gmail App
Add a New Client
Easily Add New Clients to Thryv by selecting The Thryv logo on the right-hand menu, then Add New Client.
The contact details from the email will be prepopulated in the available fields. Confirm they are correct and add or edit the fields, then select Add New Client.
Not sure if a client is already in your Thryv CRM?
Search for their contact by selecting Search Clients.
If no client is found, an option to add the contact as a client will appear. The contact details from the email will be prepopulated in the available fields. Confirm they are correct and add or edit the fields, then select Add New Contact.
Communicate with an Existing Client
When a client already exists in your Thryv account and sends you an email in your Gmail account, select the Thryv Logo (on the right-hand menu) to show the customer's client card on the right-hand pop out.
From the pop-out, you can view the customer's important details, notes, and interactions with your business. You can also start a new appointment, estimate, invoice, or payment for that customer.
Use the Thryv Gmail app on your mobile phone
On your mobile phone, you can access the Thryv Gmail App on the menu at the bottom of the screen. Select the Thryv logo to open the app. You can then add a new client or view a customer's client card to see their interaction history with the business.
