Why host appointments and events online
Offering online appointments and group events gives your clients the flexibility to meet with you from anywhere, no commute, no scheduling friction, and no phone tag. Whether you're running a one-on-one consultation or a group session with multiple attendees, adding Zoom meeting links to your Services page lets clients register and show up to a video call with everything they need in one place.
The Zoom app is available at no additional cost to all Thryv Business Center™ subscribers. Adding it takes just a few minutes, and you can use an existing Zoom account or create a free one directly through Zoom during setup.
What this article covers
This article covers how to add the Zoom app from the Thryv Business Center App Market and how to attach a Zoom meeting link to a 1-on-1 appointment or group event on your Services page. Zoom is not natively integrated with Thryv Business Center, meeting links are added manually to each service or event. This article does not cover managing your Zoom account settings or troubleshooting Zoom meeting issues. For help with those, visit Zoom's support center.
How to add Zoom from the App Market
Click App Market in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center.
The App Market page displays a grid of available third-party app cards. Each card shows the app logo, app name, and pricing. The left-hand navigation shows App Market selected and highlighted in orange at the bottom of the menu. The Zoom card displays the Zoom logo and the label "Free."
Click the arrow on the Zoom card. Thryv Business Center will open the Zoom app detail page inside the App Market.
The Zoom app detail page displays the Zoom logo, the app name "Zoom," and a description reading "Partnership: Connect with clients online and on the go with video conferencing." Three tabs are visible across the page: Overview, Data & Permissions, and Reviews. In the upper right corner, an orange button reads GET THIS APP, with the label "Free" below it. A "View setup guide" link appears next to the button.
Click GET THIS APP. Thryv Business Center will redirect you to Zoom's website to sign in or create an account.
This screenshot shows Zoom's website, not Thryv Business Center. The page header reads "Get started with Zoom" and prompts the user to enter a birth year to create a new free Basic Zoom account. A "Sign In" link appears in the top right corner for users who already have a Zoom account. The free Basic account includes up to 40 minutes and 100 participants per meeting, AI Docs, and 3 editable whiteboards.
If you already have a Zoom account, click Sign In in the top right corner of Zoom's website. If you do not have a Zoom account, enter your birth year and click Continue to create a free Basic Zoom account. Once you have signed in or completed account creation, copy your personal Zoom meeting URL from your Zoom account. Your personal meeting URL follows this format: https://zoom.us/j/yourcustomid. Navigate back to Thryv Business Center to continue setup.
How to attach a Zoom meeting link to a service or event
Click Settings in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center. Then click Services. On the Settings / Services page, click the New service button.
The Settings / Services page displays a list of existing services under the heading "New Client Services." Three buttons appear at the top of the page: New service, Add category, and Preview as a client. The New service button is orange and has a dropdown arrow. The dropdown menu is open and shows two options: "1 on 1 appointment" and "Group event."
Select 1 on 1 appointment to create a service for individual clients, or select Group event to create a session for multiple attendees. A new service setup panel will open.
This screenshot shows the "New service - 1 on 1 appointment" setup panel. The panel contains a Service name field, which displays the example name "Video Conference Service." Below the Service name field is a Choose location section with three options: Face to Face, Over the Phone, and Online. The Online option is selected and highlighted with a green border to confirm the selection. Below the location options, a "Please select" section displays two radio button options: Skype and Other. Other is selected. A URL field below the radio buttons displays the example URL "https://zoom.us/j/yourpersonalmeetingid." At the bottom of the panel are three buttons: Cancel, Advanced, and Create.
Enter a name for the service or event in the Service name field. In the Choose location section, select Online (the Online button will highlight with a green border to confirm your selection). From the options that appear below, select Other. Paste your personal Zoom meeting URL into the URL field. Use your personal meeting URL — for example, https://zoom.us/j/yourcustomid — so the same link works for every session without generating a new meeting ID each time. When you are finished, click Create.
The Settings / Services page shows a list of services under the heading "New Client Services." Four services are visible: Schedule a Call Back (30 minutes, 1 on 1), Free Estimate (1 hour, 1 on 1), Dog grooming (1 hour, 1 on 1), and Video Conference Service (1 hour, For a fee, 1 on 1). Each service displays a customizable thumbnail image, the Video Conference Service is shown here with a globe icon. A right-hand sidebar shows related setup options: Availability & calendar sync, Online booking options, Coupons, and Packages.
Once the service is created, it will appear in your Services list on the Settings / Services page. When it is time for the appointment or event, open the service from your calendar and click the Zoom meeting URL in the service details to start the video call with your client.
Frequently asked questions
Does Zoom integrate directly with Thryv Business Center? No. Zoom is not natively integrated with Thryv Business Center. Adding the Zoom app from the App Market directs you to Zoom's website to set up or sign in to a Zoom account. Your Zoom meeting link is then added manually to each service or event in Settings / Services. Thryv Business Center does not automatically generate, update, or sync Zoom meeting links.
Should I use my personal Zoom meeting ID or generate a new link for each session? Use your personal Zoom meeting ID URL, for example, https://zoom.us/j/yourcustomid. Your personal meeting ID stays the same for every session, so you only need to paste it into the URL field once when setting up the service. If you generate a unique meeting link for each appointment, you will need to manually update the URL in the service settings every time.
Can I use Zoom for both 1 on 1 appointments and group events? Yes. When creating a new service in Settings / Services, you can select either 1 on 1 appointment or Group event. Both service types support an online location with a Zoom meeting URL. The setup steps are the same for both, enter a service name, select Online as the location, select Other, and paste your Zoom meeting URL into the URL field.
What if I don't have a Zoom account? You can create a free Basic Zoom account directly through Zoom's website when you click GET THIS APP in the App Market. Zoom's free Basic account includes up to 40 minutes and 100 participants per meeting. For longer meetings or additional features, visit Zoom's pricing page to compare Zoom plans.
Where can I get help with Zoom account settings or meeting issues? This article covers setup within Thryv Business Center only. For help with your Zoom account, meeting settings, or troubleshooting Zoom video or audio issues, visit Zoom's support center.
