Keeping your contact lists in sync between your email marketing tool and your CRM saves time and ensures you are always marketing to your most current client data. The Constant Contact integration with Thryv Business Center lets you sync contacts between the two platforms on a one-time basis or on a recurring schedule. What Data Syncs Between Constant Contact and Thryv Business Center
The Constant Contact integration syncs contact data between Constant Contact and your CRM in Thryv Business Center. The integration supports a one-time sync in either direction as well as an ongoing two-way sync so your contact lists stay current automatically.
How to Install the Constant Contact Integration
To install the Constant Contact integration, click App Market in the left-hand navigation. Find the Constant Contact app in the app list and click the app tile to open the app detail page. Click Use This App to begin the installation.
A permissions window will appear. Check the box to accept the terms and conditions for Constant Contact, then click Submit. A pop-up window will appear with the Constant Contact login screen. Make sure pop-ups are allowed for this site in your browser, then log in using your Constant Contact credentials.
After logging in, click Allow to grant Thryv Business Center access to Constant Contact via Integry. Once the connection is authorized, you will be taken to the integration screen where you can set up your syncs.
What Sync Options Are Available in the Constant Contact Integration
The Constant Contact integration offers three sync options. Note that if you want to complete a full two-way sync of all current contacts, you will need to set up all three options. If you want to sync multiple lists from Constant Contact, each list must be set up as a separate sync.
- Ongoing sync of contacts between Thryv Business Center and Constant Contact - This option keeps contacts in sync on a continuing basis going forward. Note that the ongoing sync does not include contacts that already exist in either platform at the time of setup. To sync existing contacts, you must also complete the two one-time sync options below.
- One-time sync of contacts from Thryv Business Center to Constant Contact - This option exports your current contacts from your CRM to Constant Contact one time.
- One-time sync of contacts from Constant Contact to Thryv Business Center - This option imports your current Constant Contact contacts into your CRM one time.
How to Set Up and Enable a Constant Contact Sync
The setup process is identical for all three sync options. To begin, click Setup and Run for a one-time sync, or click Setup and Enable for an ongoing sync on the integration screen.
On the next screen, use the dropdown to select the Constant Contact list you want to sync. Note that each sync can only be set up for one list at a time. If you want to sync multiple lists, you must complete the setup process separately for each list.
Next, map the fields for the sync. Your Constant Contact fields will appear on the left. Type the name of the corresponding Thryv Business Center field next to each Constant Contact field to map the information correctly. If you do not want a field to sync, select Skip for that field. When you have mapped all the fields you want to sync, click Next.
A success screen will appear confirming the setup is complete. Click Save to initiate the sync.
You will be taken back to the main integration screen where the sync will show a status of Completed. Use the toggle to turn the sync on or off at any time. To edit the sync settings, click the three-dot menu icon next to the sync.
How to Uninstall the Constant Contact Integration
To uninstall the Constant Contact integration, click Uninstall in the top-right corner of the integration screen. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Uninstall again to confirm. After uninstalling, all previously available syncs will be greyed out and unavailable. To restore the syncs, you will need to reinstall the integration from the beginning.
Note: Any contact data that was previously synced between Thryv Business Center and Constant Contact will remain in both platforms after uninstalling. Uninstalling only removes the integration connection. If you want to stop a sync temporarily rather than uninstalling completely, use the toggle on the main integration screen to turn individual syncs off without uninstalling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the ongoing sync include my existing contacts?
No. The ongoing sync only applies to contacts created after the sync is enabled. To sync contacts that already exist in either platform, complete the one-time sync from Thryv Business Center to Constant Contact and the one-time sync from Constant Contact to Thryv Business Center in addition to the ongoing sync.
Can I sync multiple Constant Contact lists at the same time?
Each sync can only be set up for one Constant Contact list at a time. To sync multiple lists, complete the sync setup process separately for each list.
