Overview
Comments can be an effective way to build an online community and encourage repeat visits to your blog or content pages. The Disqus Comments widget allows you to integrate a social-media-connected commenting system directly onto your website.
This third-party integration offers several key advantages:
- Centralized community: Visitors can use a single Disqus account across multiple websites, simplifying the commenting process and encouraging engagement.
- Built-in moderation: Access advanced moderation tools and spam filtering to help keep your comment section professional and on topic.
- Increased engagement: Enable real-time replies, notifications, and social logins to create an environment that encourages visitors to return for continued discussion.
Guide
Add the Disqus Comments widget to your responsive website. To learn more about adding widgets to your website, see Adding Widgets. Once the widget has been placed, the Content Editor will appear.
Enter your Disqus short name to enable commenting on your website. Until this is completed, visitors will not be able to leave comments. For more information about the Disqus short name, visit the Disqus support portal.
Design
Open the Design Editor by clicking the design tab on the top left corner or right-clicking the widget and selecting 'Edit Design' to change the spacing, or animate how the Disqus widget loads on the page.
Customize the padding and margins (spacing around the widget) in the spacing section.
