Why Consistent Business Listings Help You Get Found Online
When your business name, address, or phone number appears differently across websites, search engines lose confidence in your listing and rank you lower in results. That inconsistency costs you visibility — and potential customers. Listings Management solves this by pushing your correct business information to 70+ of the most essential websites simultaneously, so every directory, search engine, and map app shows the same accurate details.
Use Listings Management in Thryv Business Center™ to:
Protect your search ranking — Consistent name, address, and phone number data across directories signals credibility to search engines and improves your local ranking.
Save time managing directories manually — Instead of logging into each site individually, update your information once and Listings Management distributes it across 70+ sites automatically.
Catch and fix listing errors fast — The Listings Management screen shows you which listings are active, unavailable, or inactive, and why, so you can take action immediately.
Connect and verify your Google Business Profile — Claim and manage your Google Business Profile directly from Thryv Business Center to make sure your most important listing is accurate and verified.
How to View the Status of Your Listings
To see the status of your listings across all connected sites, click Online Presence in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center. Then click Listings Management to open the Listings Management screen.
The Listings Management screen displays your active listings in two views. The default view is Interactive View, which shows your listings as a bubble chart where each bubble is sized according to the traffic volume of that site. To switch to a grid layout, click the Card View toggle. Card View displays each listing as an individual card with its name and status shown clearly.
The animation above shows the Listings Management screen toggling between Interactive View and Card View. In Interactive View, each bubble represents one listing site and is sized according to that site's traffic volume. In Card View, each listing is displayed as a separate card showing the site name and listing status. The toggle button to switch between views is located at the top right of the listings display area. The sites available on your Listings Management screen may vary by location for international partnerships.
Below your active listings, the Listings Management screen shows two additional lists: Unavailable Listings and Inactive Listings. Each listing in these sections includes a reason for its status so you know exactly what needs attention.
The screenshot above shows the Unavailable Listings and Inactive Listings sections at the bottom of the Listings Management screen. Each listing displays the site name on the left and the reason for the unavailable or inactive status on the right. The orange Support button is visible on the right side of the screen. The Unavailable and Inactive sections do not appear if all your listings are active and connected.
If you need help connecting an unavailable listing, click the orange Support button on the right side of the Listings Management screen. Clicking the Support button automatically generates a support email pre-filled with your account information and the relevant listing details.

How to Resolve a Listing Account Conflict
If Thryv Business Center is unable to connect one or more of your listings, the cause may be an existing Yext account. Listings Management uses Yext to distribute your business information across directory sites. If you already have a Yext account — either directly with Yext or through a different provider — Thryv Business Center cannot connect your listings until that existing Yext account is cancelled. Two providers cannot simultaneously control a single Yext account.
If Thryv Business Center detects an existing Yext account conflict on your listings, contact Thryv support for assistance resolving the conflict. The support team will coordinate with Yext on your behalf. Yext or your previous third-party provider may need to communicate with you directly to complete the cancellation before your listings can be connected.
The screenshot above shows the Yext account conflict notification in Thryv Business Center. The notification displays a message explaining that an existing Yext account has been detected and must be cancelled before Thryv Business Center can connect your listings. The notification does not show your Yext account login details or the name of the conflicting provider.
How to Connect and Verify Your Google Business Profile
Your Google Business Profile is one of the most important listings for local search visibility. Thryv Business Center lets you claim and manage your Google Business Profile directly from the Listings Management screen, saving you the time of managing it separately in Google.
Verification is a required step by Google to confirm that your business information is accurate before Google publishes your listing. Google only allows the business owner to complete the verification process directly — third parties cannot verify a Google Business Profile on a business's behalf. The Thryv support team can guide you through the verification steps, but you will need to complete the final verification steps directly with Google. For the full step-by-step guide to verifying your Google Business Profile, see How to Verify Your Google Business Profile.
To confirm that your Google Business Profile is connected, open the Listings Management screen. Look for the Google icon among the active listing bubbles or cards. When the Google icon appears in your active listings, your Google Business Profile is connected and being managed through Thryv Business Center.
The screenshot above shows the Listings Management screen with the Google icon visible among the active listing bubbles. When the Google icon appears in the active listings area, the Google Business Profile is successfully connected and being managed through Thryv Business Center. If the Google icon does not appear in the active listings area, the Google Business Profile is not yet connected or verified.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this article cover?
This article covers how to view the status of your business listings on the Listings Management screen, how to resolve a Yext account conflict that prevents listings from connecting, and how to connect and verify your Google Business Profile through Thryv Business Center. This article does not cover how to edit your business name, address, or phone number — to update your business information, see your business profile settings. Do I need a physical address to be listed on Google?
Google requires all businesses to have a physical address — not a PO Box — that Google can use to verify your listing. However, your physical address does not have to be displayed publicly on your Google Business Profile. If you prefer to keep your address hidden, click Online Presence in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center, then click Google Profile, then click Service Areas. Define your service area so that Google has a geographic reference to display on your listing in place of your address.
I am a direct paid advertiser with Yahoo. Why can't Thryv Business Center manage my Yahoo listing?
If you are a direct paid advertiser with Yahoo, the information Yahoo holds for your business will always override the information pushed by Thryv Business Center Listings Management. If you also have search advertising through a separate Thryv product, that search advertising may be the source of the conflict — your Yahoo listing will pull its information from the search advertising rather than from Listings Management. Contact Thryv support if you need help resolving a Yahoo listing conflict.
I don't see my business category as an option. What should I do?
All categories available in Thryv Business Center Listings Management are predetermined by the publisher sites — including Google, Facebook, Yelp, and Yahoo — to ensure your business is listed correctly across all platforms. If a category is not listed in Thryv Business Center, it means that the major publisher sites do not currently offer that category. Select the category that most closely matches your business type. To help search engines understand your business fully, complete as much of your business profile as possible, including your business description, additional categories, services, and attributes.
Will updating my business information in Thryv Business Center update my Google Business Profile?
If you enter business information — particularly your business name, address, or phone number — that is different from what is currently on your Google Business Profile, Google will likely trigger a re-verification of your profile. Once you complete the re-verification process directly with Google, the updated information will appear on your Google Business Profile. If your Google Business Profile is currently unverified, the updated information will apply without requiring re-verification.
