A growing business goes hand in hand with an expanding client base. As a result, managing, relating, and leveraging the various information you have on each client can be complicated and at times, even challenging. The system helps you convey information into valuable actions for your business. Labeling, organizing, grouping, and filtering with the help of Tags are one of the solutions the system provides you for this purpose.
Using tags in your Business Center account allows you to label, organize, group and filter information related to your business interaction with your clients. Tags provide the ability to sort your data with a personalized common word/short phrase/theme, allowing you to quickly find what’s most important to you for your specific needs and actions. Apart from finding and sorting clients efficiently, some of the main advantages of using them are:
- Perform bulk operations based on your Tags.
- Sorting data in reports is simplified - Tags are included in each report you download from your Thryv account.
- Use Tags to target your communications with your clients with relevant content.
Creating or Adding a Tag
You can easily create or add tags per entity or in bulk from your account by:
- Directly within a specific client’s card.
- Search and select a specific client from your list.
- Select the pencil and start typing the term you wish to add in the tags field.
- If a tag with that term already exists, it will be auto-suggested to you by the system.
2. Client card pane
- Select the info icon .
- Select the edit pencil.
- In the Tags field, start typing the term you wish to add.
- If a tag with that term already exists, it will be auto-suggested to you by the system.
3. From the Client Dashboard
To save time, you can add one or as many tags as you want to multiple contacts from the main contacts page:
- Select the Clients tab located in the left navigation pane.
- Click on the existing tag or +Click to Add button in the Tags column
- In the window that appears, type the desired tag(s). Keep in mind that hitting the space bar will start a new tag
Tip - If a tag with that term already exists, it will be auto-suggested to you by the system.
Removing Tags
1. Individually
- Directly within a specific client’s card.
- Click on the “x” icon to the right of the tag you want to remove from the client card as shown below.
2. In a bulk operation
- Select the clients from your list you want to remove tags from or click the Select button on the upper bar menu if you wish to Select All listed clients.
- Select Manage Tags
- Select Remove Tags
- Select the Tags field and start typing the label(s) you wish to remove.
- Select Remove Tags in the bottom, right of the window to remove the tag(s) or click on Cancel.
Searching, filtering, and doing bulk operations with Tags
- Select the Clients tab located in the left navigation pane.
- Select Filters>Tags to search or view all existing tags.
Tip - If a tag with that term already exists, it will be auto-suggested to you by the system.
Based on your chosen tags search results, you have the option to do several bulk operations from the menu:
- Invite via Email – Send your clients an invitation to visit your Client Portal via email.
- Change Status - Indicate if the contact is a lead, customer, or VIP status.

- Share Document - Note that selecting Share Document will give the client access to the document through their client portal, however selecting Internal Document will attach it to the client card, but not give your client access.
