Connecting your website to Thryv unlocks powerful analytics and visitor tracking insights that help you understand how people are finding and interacting with your business online. Once connected, Thryv tracks visitor behavior on your website and surfaces that data directly in your Thryv analytics dashboard, so you can make informed decisions about your marketing without switching between tools. If you have a Thryv website, your website is connected automatically and no additional setup is required. This article applies to businesses connecting an external website that is not hosted by Thryv.
How to Connect Your Website to Thryv
Follow these steps to connect an external website to Thryv and install the Thryv Visitor Tagging script.
- Navigate to the Website Analytics page
Click Analytics in the left-hand navigation. Then click Website. The Website Analytics page will display either a banner or a blank report prompting you to connect your website.
- Enter your website URL
Click Connect Website. A connection window will appear. Enter your website URL in the URL field. Click Connect to proceed.
- Proceed to the Tools page
After clicking Connect, a window will appear prompting you to add the necessary tracking scripts to your website. If you have already added the Thryv Visitor Tagging script to your website, click Maybe Later to skip this step. If you have not yet added the script, click Go To Tools to proceed to the Tools page where you can access the script.
- Copy the Thryv Visitor Tagging script
On the Tools page, click Thryv Visitor Tagging. The Thryv Visitor Tagging section will expand to display the tracking script. Copy the script provided.
- Paste the script into your website's HTML
Paste the Thryv Visitor Tagging script into the Body section of your website's HTML code. The script must be placed as the last item in the Body section, directly above the closing </body> tag. Placing the script immediately above the </body> tag ensures the tracking script loads correctly on every page of your website.
- Wait for data to appear in Thryv
After installing the Thryv Visitor Tagging script on your website, allow 48 to 72 hours for visitor data to begin flowing from your website into your Thryv analytics dashboard. No additional steps are required after the script is installed. Once data begins flowing, your website analytics will be visible in the Website Analytics section of your Thryv account.
