Knowing who visits your website helps you make smarter decisions about how to attract and convert more clients. The Audience page in your AEO & SEO dashboard pulls data directly from Google Analytics to show you geographic information like country and city, demographic information like age and gender, and technical information like device type and operating system. This article covers how to access the Audience page, adjust the date range, and interpret the key metrics available.
How to Access the Audience Page in Your AEO & SEO Dashboard
To access the Audience page, click AEO & SEO in the left-hand navigation, then click Google Analytics, then click Audience. The Audience page displays visitor data broken down by geographic, demographic, and technical categories.
How to Change the Date Range on the Audience Page
To change the date range for the data displayed on the Audience page, locate the date range selector in the top-right corner of the page. Select a preset date range, set a custom date range, or compare two different date ranges side by side. Changing the date range updates all charts and metrics displayed on the Audience page.
How to Read Your Audience Metrics
To change the data displayed in the charts, select a metric from the options at the top of the Audience page. Each section of the Audience page (geographic, demographic, and technical) displays its own set of available metrics. Clicking a metric updates the charts below to reflect the selected data. The following metrics appear frequently across sections:
- Sessions — The total number of visits to your website, including return visits from the same user.
- Total Users — The number of unique visitors to your website during the selected date range.
- Avg Engagement Time — The average amount of time a visitor spends actively on your website during a session.
- Views — The total number of pages viewed across all sessions. If a visitor views multiple pages in one session, each page view is counted individually.
- Conversions — The number of times a visitor completes a tracked action on your website, such as making a payment or scheduling an appointment.
- Event Count — The total number of individual actions taken on your website by all visitors combined during the selected date range.
