How to Access Payroll Settings
Payroll settings are accessible from any screen within Thryv Workforce Center. Click the Settings icon in the navigation area of Thryv Workforce Center. The Payroll Settings page will open and display your current Payroll Schedule and Payment Bank Account information.
How to Edit Your Payroll Schedule
The Payroll Schedule section on the Payroll Settings page displays your current payroll frequency and the next deadline to run payroll. Review the current payroll schedule to confirm the frequency and next deadline shown are correct before making any changes.
To make changes to your payroll schedule, click Edit in the Payroll Schedule section. A payroll schedule details panel will slide out from the right side of the screen. In the payroll schedule details panel, you can update the following fields: payroll schedule name, payroll frequency, first pay date and end of first pay period. After making your changes, click Save Changes to apply the updated payroll schedule. To discard your changes without saving, click Close in the top-right corner of the payroll schedule details panel.
How to Preview Upcoming Paydays and Deadlines
The Payroll Schedule section includes a preview option that shows your upcoming pay calendar for the next four months. Click Preview Upcoming Paydays in the Payroll Schedule section to open the pay calendar. The pay calendar displays upcoming pay dates, the deadlines by which you must run payroll for each pay period, and any bank holidays occurring within the four-month window. The Preview Upcoming Paydays calendar is read-only, no changes can be made from the calendar view. To make changes to your payroll schedule, close the preview calendar and click Edit in the Payroll Schedule section.
How to Replace Your Payroll Bank Account
The Payment Bank Account section on the Payroll Settings page displays the bank account currently used to fund payroll. Only one bank account can be connected for payroll at a time, and a bank account must always be on file. To replace the current bank account with a new one, click Replace in the Payment Bank Account section.
After clicking Replace, a confirmation screen will appear informing you that the current bank account information will be permanently deleted and replaced with the new account you add. Review the confirmation message and click Delete & Add New to proceed. If you do not want to replace the bank account at this time, close the confirmation screen without clicking Delete & Add New to keep the current bank account on file.
After clicking Delete & Add New, a screen will appear offering two methods to connect your new bank account: Plaid or manual verification. Select the method that works for your bank. If your bank supports Plaid, connecting through Plaid is faster and does not require waiting for test deposits. If your bank does not appear in the Plaid bank list, select manual verification instead.
How to Connect Your Bank Account Using Plaid
Plaid connects your bank account by authenticating directly with your bank's online banking system. After selecting the Plaid option on the connection method screen, a Plaid window will open. In the Plaid window, locate your bank by scrolling through the list of supported banks or type your bank's name into the search field. If your bank does not appear in the Plaid bank list, your bank does not support Plaid connections. In that case, close the Plaid window and select the manual verification option instead.
After selecting your bank in the Plaid window, enter your online banking username and password in the fields provided. Plaid uses your online banking credentials to authenticate your account directly with your bank. Thryv does not store your online banking username or password, these credentials are used only by Plaid during the authentication process.
After entering your banking credentials, a permissions screen will appear listing the access Plaid is requesting to verify your bank account. Review the listed permissions and click Allow to grant the necessary permissions and complete the bank account connection. Once you click Allow, Plaid will verify your bank account and the new bank account will be saved to your Payroll Settings.
How to Connect Your Bank Account Using Manual Verification
Manual verification connects your bank account by confirming two small test deposits that Thryv Workforce Center sends to your bank account. Use manual verification if your bank does not appear in the Plaid bank list. To begin manual verification, select the manual option on the bank account connection method screen. An account information form will appear. Enter your bank account details in the form fields provided, then click Save New Account.
After clicking Save New Account, Thryv Workforce Center will send two small test deposits to the bank account you entered. Test deposits typically take one to two business days to appear in your bank account. You do not need to take any action during this waiting period, return to the bank account verification screen in Thryv Workforce Center once the two test deposits appear in your bank account statement.
Once the two test deposits appear in your bank account statement, return to the bank account verification screen in Thryv Workforce Center. Enter the exact deposit amounts from your bank statement in the two amount fields provided, then click Submit Test Deposits. If the amounts you enter do not match the test deposit amounts on five consecutive attempts, Thryv Workforce Center will automatically send two new test deposits to your account. Wait for the new test deposits to appear in your bank statement before attempting verification again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have more than one bank account connected for payroll at the same time?
No. Thryv Workforce Center supports only one bank account for payroll at a time. A bank account must always be on file, you cannot remove a bank account without replacing it. To switch to a different bank account, use the Replace option in the Payment Bank Account section of Payroll Settings.
How long does Plaid take to connect a bank account compared to manual verification?
Connecting a bank account through Plaid is immediate, once you authenticate with your bank's online banking credentials and click Allow in the Plaid permissions screen, the bank account is connected and available for payroll. Manual verification requires waiting one to two business days for two test deposits to appear in your bank account before you can complete verification. Use Plaid whenever possible to avoid delays. If your bank does not support Plaid, manual verification is the only available option.
What should I do if I exceed five failed test deposit verification attempts?
If you enter incorrect test deposit amounts on five consecutive attempts, Thryv Workforce Center will automatically send two new test deposits to your bank account. Wait one to two business days for the new test deposits to appear in your bank account statement, then return to the bank account verification screen in Thryv Workforce Center and enter the new deposit amounts to complete verification.
