Building a custom report can help you gain specific insights tailored to your needs. Whether you're tracking performance metrics, monitoring KPIs, or analyzing trends, a custom report can give you the information you need at a glance. Follow the steps below to create your own custom report in Thryv Reporting Center™.
Creating a New Report
To begin, click on the New Report button in the report builder dashboard.
Once the report creation page opens, you will need to assign a name to your report.
Choose a name to identify this report, ideally one that will be easy to remember and that your staff will be able to recognize if shared with them. After you've named it, click on Create to proceed to the next step.
You will be taken to your empty report. Next, it's time to populate your report with relevant data. Metrics are the core components of your report, and they provide the insights you're looking for.
Click on Add Metric(s) to report to bring up a selection of available metrics.
A list of available metrics will appear. From this list, you can check the box next to each metric you want to include in your report. Feel free to select multiple metrics that are relevant to your analysis. You can always return to this screen and add more metrics to your report later, or remove them.
Note: You also can add a metric to your Favorites from this screen by clicking the heart icon. This is helpful if you plan to include this metric in future reports or return to it later.
You're able to sort metrics by name, center, or favorites, and change the order between ascending and descending
To change the way metrics are displayed, you can toggle between tile view and list view.
Once you've chosen your desired metrics, click on Add to Report to place them into your report.
Reviewing and Customizing Your Metrics
The selected metrics will now appear in your report. Each one will be displayed in a separate panel as a visual chart.
You are able to change the order of the tiles by dragging and dropping them into the desired order.
To date range for the entire report at once, click on Master Date Range and select a new date range. This will apply to all metrics, and will override any changes you've made to the date range for specific metrics.
For each metric, you have a few customization options that help you tailor the report further:
- Change Chart Type: By clicking on the tri-dots (three-dot menu) next to a metric, you can switch between different chart types (e.g., line graph, bar chart, pie chart).
- Detailed View: By clicking detailed view, you are able to zoom in on a particular metric and make changes to the way it is displayed
- Adjust the Date Range: You can also use this menu to edit the date range for the metric to reflect specific timeframes.
- Apply Filters: If you want to filter the data shown in the metric (e.g., by region, department, or category), you can do so using the filter option in the menu.
If you want to add more metrics to your report later, simply click on +Add Metric and follow the same process.
