An Instagram Story is a feature on the Instagram platform that allows users to share photos and videos that stay published for 24 hours. Stories are displayed in a slideshow format at the top of your followers' feeds and can include various elements such as text, stickers, emojis, and more. Stories are a great way to create a more visible post that creates a sense of urgency for your audience to engage. Try them for limited-time offers, flash sales, or time-sensitive announcements, encouraging your followers to act quickly.

To post a story, create or schedule your post as normal by clicking Post Now or clicking a date on your calendar to schedule the post.

In the window that appears to create your post, change the toggle to Story

A warning will pop up advising that Stories can currently only be published to Instagram. Click on Convert to Story to continue.

Next, add either an image or a video to your post (but not both).

Add A Video To Your Story

To use a video for your story, click Upload Video. Your device's file explorer will open — select one video file to upload. Enter a title in the Title field provided. Note that this title is for internal use only to help you distinguish one story from another, and will not be visible to your audience.

To set the thumbnail, which will serve as a preview for your Story, scroll to the frame in the video you want to use, and click Use Frame as Thumbnail

Ensure which Instagram page or pages you want to publish the story by making sure the box next to them is checked. Then, click on Publish to # Pages to publish your story.

Post a Story With an Image

To post a story with an image, click on Add Image.

Then, select whether to upload an image from your device's files, Find Free Stock Images in the stock photo library, or Design Custom Media to open Canva to design your own image.

Once you have selected your image, a preview will be available. Select the Instagram page or pages you want to publish the story to by ensuring the checkbox next to each is checked. Then, click Publish to [#] Pages to publish your story.
