Increase your reach and stay connected with your customers by maintaining your presence across various social media platforms. No matter where your users are online, you can stay connected with them in Thryv Marketing Center™ by posting to multiple social platforms simultaneously. This guide will show you how to create or schedule a post for one or multiple social media pages.
To get started, navigate to Social>Social Calendar
To post right away, click on Post Now
In the pop-up in the lower right corner, select whether you want to create a Post, Story, or Cover Photo
In the window that appears, you will be able to create your post. To start, give your post a Title. The only platforms where this title will appear are Pinterest and YouTube, it will not appear on any other platforms.
Select social accounts where this content will be posted.
Add Media to your post. You can add an Image (or multiple images), a video, or a shortened link to a web page. To do so, click on the appropriate tile. Note: You are able to skip this step and only add a caption for a text-only post, though this is not advisable. Posts perform better on all social platforms when there are visual elements.
Add Images
To add an image, you are able to add a photo from your device, browse the free stock photo library, or create an image with Canva
When you click on Video, you will be invited to upload a video from your device. In addition, you must enter a video title which appears above the video's caption and in search results on the platform where you are posting.
When you click on URL, a window will appear where you can paste your link. Click on Save when finished.
A preview of how your media will look in the context of your post will appear on the right. If posting to multiple platforms, you can click on the platform logo to see how it will look on each page.
Once you have your media added, you are ready to add your caption.
Add A Caption
Enter a caption in the field provided. You can enter both emojis and hashtags. To enter emojis, click on the emoji icon below the field. High-Thryver Tip: You can make the text field larger or smaller on your screen, by clicking and dragging the bars in the lower right corner of the field.
You can also use ThryvAI to come up with your captions for you. Click Here for a full guide to using ThryvAI for captions!
Note that you can enter multiple captions, and cycle through them with the arrows below the text field. You can use different captions when re-using the same post.
To add specific captions for each platform, toggle Platform specific captions to on.
Content Settings
Next toggle the settings regarding content approval and whether this content can be recycled.
Require Approval will require this content to be approved in order to post when it is added to your calendar.
Recycle Content determines whether this content is to be recycled when added to automated publishing queues, and whether it will expire when doing so.
Content Tags
Content tags help you organize content in your content library. These tags are internal only and are not displayed on your social platforms. They are not the same as hashtags, those must be added to your caption as normal.
Your content tags are searchable in your content library
To schedule a post in advance, click on a date in the calendar to schedule a post for that date.
Then, set a time for your post. Note that if you want to re-use the same post again, you can click on +Add Another Post Date to automatically schedule an additional time/date for the post.
Then, create your post as normal, and click on Schedule when you are ready to schedule it. Remember, you can come back and edit your post any time before the scheduled date/time.
FAQ
Can I post any kind of content to any platform?
No, each platform has it's own requirements. Instagram and Pinterest require either an image or video to post. TikTok and YouTube each require a video. Each platform may also have additional requirements
Why did my post fail?
When a post fails, it will appear in red with an error icon in your social calendar. Click on the failed post to see the error message. Once you resolve the error message, you can reschedule your post. The most common type of error experienced is caused by the limitations of the platform (ex. trying to post text-only to YouTube).
My personal Facebook page is connected. Why can't I post to it?
This is a platform limitation from Meta. They do not allow 3rd party platforms to post to personal pages, they only allow this for Business pages.
My Google Business Profile is connected. Why can't I post to it?
Only verified Google Business Profiles can post. Click Here for our guide to verifying your Google Business Profile.
Why are some posts on my calendar blue and some yellow?
This happens when you have Thryv-generated content created as part of your plan. A post that is yellow indicates that our social team is still revising and working on your post. It is not considered final until it appears in Blue. It is not recommended to post or edit these posts, as our team has not finished the revision process.
