Whether you need to update the caption, swap out an image, change the category, or adjust which social accounts the post will publish to, editing a scheduled post saves you time and keeps your Social Calendar organized without disrupting your posting schedule.

How to Edit a Scheduled Social Media Post

Follow these steps to edit a post that is already scheduled on your Thryv Social Calendar.

1. Open the post from your Social Calendar

Click Social in the left-hand navigation. Then click Social Calendar. Locate the scheduled post you want to edit on the Social Calendar. Click on the post tile to open it.

2. Open the Edit Post option

In the post details window that appears, click the three-dot menu (⋮). Select Edit Post from the dropdown menu.

3. Make your edits

The post editor will open with the current post content loaded. You can update any of the following elements:

• Media, replace or remove the image or video attached to the post
• Caption, update the text of the post caption
• Categories, change the content category assigned to the post
• Publishing accounts, add or remove the social accounts the post will publish to

4. Save your changes

Once you have finished making your edits, click Update at the bottom of the post editor. Your changes will be saved and the post will remain scheduled on your Social Calendar with the updated content.

Can I change which social accounts a scheduled post will publish to? 

Yes. When editing a scheduled post, you can add or remove the social accounts the post will publish to in the Publishing accounts section of the post editor. Click Update to save your changes.

Will editing a scheduled post change its scheduled publish time? 

Editing a scheduled post and clicking Update saves your content changes without changing the scheduled publish time unless you also update the date or time fields in the post editor.

Where do I find the Edit Post option? 

The Edit Post option is located in the three-dot menu inside the post details window. To open the post details window, click on the post tile on your Social Calendar. Then click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the post details window and select Edit Post.
