Why Tracking Your Invoices in One Place Matters
Getting paid is the part of running a business that does not run itself. Invoices pile up, due dates slip by, and chasing payments eats hours you should be spending on customers. The invoice dashboard in Thryv Business Center brings every invoice you have created into one view, sorted by status so you immediately know what is overdue, what is due now, and what is coming next. You catch unpaid invoices before they become collection problems, you stay on top of your cash flow without digging through emails, and you spend less time on billing and more time on the work that pays.
This article walks you through how to use the invoice dashboard in Thryv Business Center, including filtering invoices by status, understanding what each invoice status means, taking action on individual invoices, and creating new invoices, estimates, and payment links. It does not cover the step-by-step process of building an invoice from scratch, configuring payment processors, or setting up automated billing. For the full process of building an invoice from scratch, see How To Create and Send an Invoice.

The video below walks you through the invoice dashboard in Thryv Business Center, including how to filter invoices by status, the meaning of each invoice status, the actions you can take on each invoice, and how to create new invoices, estimates, and payment links from the dashboard.
Understanding the Four Invoice Status Filters
At the top of your invoice dashboard, four status filters help you sort your invoices and focus on what needs your attention:
Overdue. The due date on the invoice has passed and the invoice has not been paid. These invoices need follow-up to collect payment.
Due. The invoice is ready to be paid and is reflecting on the client's account balance. These are invoices the client owes you right now.
Not Yet Due. The issue date on the invoice is set later than the current date. Invoices in this status do not yet reflect on the client's account balance and will move to Due when the issue date arrives.
Total. The total filter reflects every filtered invoice in your account, with one exception: canceled invoices are not included in the Total filter.
When an Invoice Is Considered Due by Thryv
An invoice is considered due by Thryv Business Center under the following circumstances:
A service is booked that requires payment up front.
A service is completed in the calendar that requires payment.
An invoice is issued independently of a service in the calendar.
When any of these conditions is met, the invoice moves into the Due filter and reflects on the client's account balance.
How to Filter and Sort Your Invoices
Beyond the four status filters, the right-hand side of the invoice dashboard gives you additional ways to filter and search your invoices:
Filter by the client name on the invoice.
Filter by the type of items on the invoice.
Filter by whether the invoice has a coupon or Auto Billing applied.
Filter by the invoice creation date.
In the upper-right corner of the dashboard, you can also export your filtered invoice list for offline review or accounting purposes.
How to Change Your Dashboard View
If you are an admin, manager, or collaborator with access to other staff members' invoices, you can change your dashboard view to show all invoices or only your own. To change your view, click Settings and update your dashboard view setting between All and Only You.
How to Create a New Invoice, Estimate, or Payment Link
In the upper-left corner of the invoice dashboard, click New to open the options for creating a new record. From the New menu, you can:
Record a payment. Log a payment you have already received from a client.
Charge a card. Process a credit card payment for a client.
Create an invoice. Build a new invoice to send to a client. For the full step-by-step process, see How To Create and Send an Invoice.
Create an estimate. Build an estimate to send to a client before an invoice.
Send a payment link to a client. Generate and send a quick payment link directly to a client.
How to Take Action on an Individual Invoice

Take a payment on the invoice.
View a PDF version of the invoice.
Send a reminder to the client about the unpaid invoice.
For additional actions, click the three dots icon inside the invoice. The three-dot menu includes the following options:
Edit the invoice. Update the details of an existing invoice.
Archive the invoice. Remove the invoice from your active dashboard while keeping a record of it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Overdue and Due invoices?
An invoice is Overdue when its due date has already passed and payment has not been received. An invoice is Due when it is ready to be paid and is currently reflecting on the client's account balance. Overdue invoices need immediate follow-up; Due invoices are simply owed and waiting for payment.
Why does my invoice show as Not Yet Due?
An invoice shows as Not Yet Due when its issue date is set later than the current date. The invoice exists in your system but does not reflect on the client's account balance yet. Once the issue date arrives, the invoice moves automatically to the Due filter.
Are canceled invoices included in my Total filter?
No. Canceled invoices are excluded from the Total filter. The Total reflects every filtered invoice in your account except those that have been canceled.
Can I see invoices created by other staff members?
If you are an admin, manager, or collaborator with the right permissions, you can change your dashboard view from Only You to All to see invoices created by other staff members. This setting is managed through the Settings option in your dashboard view.
Can I send a payment link to a client without creating an invoice?
Yes. From the New menu in the upper-left of the invoice dashboard, select Send a payment link to a client. This generates a quick payment link you can share with the client without creating a full invoice.
What happens when I cancel an invoice?
A canceled invoice is removed from your Due, Overdue, and Total filters but remains in your records. Canceled invoices are not included in the Total filter calculation, so your dashboard totals only reflect active and paid invoices.
Can I export my invoice list?
Yes. In the upper-right corner of the invoice dashboard, you can export your filtered invoice list for offline review or accounting use.
How do I build an invoice from scratch?
Creating an invoice from scratch is not covered in this article. For the full step-by-step process of building an invoice, see How To Create and Send an Invoice.
