If you receive an error message when connecting Instagram about permission issues, follow the steps in this guide to troubleshoot.
Ensure that "Select All" is selected when linking Instagram accounts
The connection between Instagram and Business Center only functions when all permissions are granted. It is critical to select all permissions upon initial setup.
To ensure that this was done when initially connecting Instagram, navigate to Settings>Linked Accounts>Add New and click on Instagram.
In the window that appears, click on Edit Access to edit the permissions. If this screen does not appear, then you will need to reset your Meta permissions. Click Here for an article showing how to do so.
Once you are on the screen to edit permissions, click on Select All to turn all permissions on.
From here, if you see the Instagram account you want to connect, click on Select All and proceed to the next step.
If you don't see the Instagram account you want to connect, then proceed to the next step of this troubleshooting guide.
Check the connection status of your Instagram account to the specified Facebook page
Open the Facebook page for the business that should be linked to the Instagram account. Then, click on Settings on the left-hand menu.
In Settings, select Linked Accounts>Instagram
Here is an example of a connected Instagram account
If the Instagram account does not display here, then you will need to go through the process of linking your Instagram page to your Facebook page by clicking the Connect Account button.
Check Your Business Integration Settings
While you're still in the personal Facebook account that manages your business page. Click on your profile picture in the top right, then navigate to Settings and Privacy>Settings.
Scroll down on the left-hand menu and click on Business Integrations.
Then, click on View and Edit next to Cloud Campaign. Ensure that each toggle is set to On. Note that if you see a list of accounts below any of the permission toggles here, you will need to select the box in the top right of that list to enable permissions to all accounts.
These steps will prevent you from running into permission issues with both Facebook and Instagram going forward.
