Connecting Insightly to Thryv Business Center™ keeps your client and lead records accurate and up to date across both platforms without manual data entry. When a contact is created or updated in either system, the integration automatically syncs the record to the other platform, so your team always has the most current information. Whether you are importing existing Insightly contacts into Thryv Business Center, exporting Thryv Business Center clients to Insightly, or running an ongoing bi-directional sync, the Insightly integration eliminates duplicate data entry and reduces the risk of outdated records across your business tools.

This article covers how to install, configure, and manage the Insightly integration with Thryv Business Center, including pre-installation requirements, available sync options, field mapping setup for contacts and leads, post-installation management, and how to uninstall the integration. This integration is available free in the Thryv Marketplace™. You will need an existing Insightly account to complete the installation. What Data Syncs Between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
The following fields sync between Insightly CRM Leads and Client Fields and your Thryv Business Center contact card. All fields in the table below sync to Thryv Business Center. First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone also sync to your Thryv Command Center:
- First Name, syncs in both directions between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
- Last Name, syncs in both directions between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
- Email, syncs in both directions between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
- Phone, syncs in both directions between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
- Date of Birth, syncs to the Birthdate field in Thryv Business Center
- Title, syncs in both directions between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
- Tags, syncs in both directions between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
Before You Install: Pre-Installation Requirements
Before installing the Insightly integration, complete the following steps to ensure the integration configures correctly.
- Verify matching fields between Insightly and Thryv Business Center
Confirm that each field you plan to sync in Insightly has an equivalent field in Thryv Business Center, and vice versa. If Thryv Business Center has fields you want to sync that do not exist in Insightly, you will need to create those fields in Insightly before installation. If Insightly has fields you want to sync that do not exist in Thryv Business Center, create those fields by clicking Settings in the left-hand navigation, then clicking Client & Contact Info. - Create an example client in Thryv Business Center
Create an example client in Thryv Business Center to use during the integration configuration process. Ensure that every field you plan to include in the sync contains data on the example client card. The integration configuration process requires a populated client record to map fields correctly.
What to Expect from the Insightly Integration: Available Sync Options
The Insightly integration offers seven sync options. Review each option below to determine which sync or syncs best fit your business needs before beginning the installation.
Note: Any bi-directional sync will only apply to new contacts or contacts when their information changes. If your goal is to sync both current and new contacts or leads, you will need to complete both an initial one-time sync and set up an ongoing sync.
Insightly Contacts: Bi-directional Ongoing Sync, an ongoing sync that automatically updates or creates new records in both Insightly and Thryv Business Center when contact information changes in either platform. Email address is the unique identifier used to match client records between the two systems.
Insightly Contacts: Insightly to Thryv Business Center One-time Sync, imports all contacts from your Insightly account into Thryv Business Center as contacts. You will map the Insightly fields to Thryv Business Center contact fields during the configuration setup.
Insightly Contacts: Thryv Business Center to Insightly One-time Sync, exports all clients from your Thryv Business Center account to Insightly as contacts. You will map the Thryv Business Center fields to Insightly contact fields during the configuration setup. Note that only Contact fields will sync in this option Client fields such as Pet, Case, Account, Job, or other CRM terms defined in your settings are not supported for mapping in this sync option.
Insightly Leads: Bi-directional Ongoing Sync, an ongoing sync that automatically updates or creates new records in both Insightly and Thryv Business Center when lead information changes in either platform.
Insightly Leads: Insightly to Thryv Business Center One-time Sync, imports all leads from your Insightly account into Thryv Business Center as leads. You will map the Insightly lead fields to Thryv Business Center lead fields during the configuration setup.
Insightly Leads: Thryv Business Center to Insightly One-time Sync, exports all leads from your Thryv Business Center account to Insightly as leads. You will map the Thryv Business Center fields to Insightly lead fields during the configuration setup. Note that only Contact fields will sync in this option Client fields such as Pet, Case, Account, Job, or other CRM terms defined in your settings are not supported for mapping in this sync option.

Installation Guide
Follow these steps to install the Insightly integration from the Thryv Marketplace.
- Navigate to Integrations in Thryv Business Center
Click Settings in the left-hand navigation. Then click Integrations. Locate the Insightly integration in the Thryv Marketplace and begin the installation process.
- Grant permissions
After initiating the installation, the permissions screen will appear asking you to provide permissions to connect Thryv Business Center and Insightly. The permissions screen displays the following access requests:
- Your user details
- Client details
- Sync current clients between Thryv and Insightly CRM
- Sync future clients between Thryv and Insightly CRM
- Sync Insightly CRM leads to Thryv clients
Check the box to agree to the Terms & Conditions, then click Submit.
Connect your Insightly account
A window will appear prompting you to connect your Insightly account. If the window does not appear automatically, click the Connect an account button. The connection window displays two fields: URL and API Key.
To find your Insightly API key and URL, log in to your Insightly account and follow these steps:
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner of your Insightly account
- Click User Settings
- Copy your API Key and API URL
- Paste the API Key and API URL into the corresponding fields in the connection window in Thryv Business Center
Click Proceed to connect your Insightly account.
Sync Your Contacts
The following process applies to all contact syncs, including one-time syncs in either direction and the bi-directional ongoing sync.
- Select your sync option and click Setup and Enable
Locate the contact sync option you want to configure. Click Setup and Enable next to the sync option you selected.
- Configure email marketing opt-out settings
On the configuration screen, set the email marketing opt-out toggle to indicate whether the contacts being synced have opted out of receiving email marketing messages. Setting the toggle to Yes indicates that these contacts have opted out of email marketing. This setting does not affect your ability to send standard emails to these contacts.
- Map your contact fields
Map the fields to sync between Insightly and Thryv Business Center. Insightly fields will appear in order on the left side of the configuration screen. Use the Thryv Field dropdown next to each Insightly field to select the corresponding field in Thryv Business Center. Fields marked with an asterisk are required and cannot be skipped. When you have finished mapping all fields, click Next.
- Save the configuration
Click Save to complete the contact sync configuration. The sync of contacts between Insightly and Thryv Business Center will begin immediately after saving.
Sync Your Leads
The following process applies to all lead syncs, including one-time syncs in either direction and the bi-directional ongoing sync.
- Select your sync option and click Setup and Enable
Locate the lead sync option you want to configure. Click Setup and Enable next to the sync option you selected.
- Select a Lead Status for incoming leads
Use the Lead Status dropdown to select the status that will be assigned to all incoming leads from Thryv Business Center. All incoming leads will be assigned the same status. Available status options include: AttemptedContact, Contacted, Disqualified, and NotContacted.
- Assign a Lead Owner
Use the Lead Owner dropdown to select the Insightly user who will be assigned as the owner of all incoming leads. All incoming leads will default to the same owner and can be reassigned individually in Insightly after the sync is complete.
- Select a Lead Source
Use the Lead Source dropdown to select the source that will be assigned to all incoming leads. All incoming leads will share the same lead source. Available source options include: Other, Partner Referral, Phone Enquiry, Purchased List, and others.
- Configure email marketing opt-out settings
Set the Email Opt Out toggle to indicate whether the leads being synced have opted out of receiving email marketing messages. Setting the toggle to Yes indicates that these leads have opted out of email marketing. This setting does not affect your ability to send standard emails to these leads.
- Map your lead fields
Map the fields to sync between Insightly and Thryv Business Center. Insightly fields will appear on the left side of the configuration screen. Use the Thryv Field dropdown next to each Insightly field to select the corresponding field in Thryv Business Center. Fields marked with an asterisk are required and cannot be skipped. When you have finished mapping all fields, click Next.
- Save the configuration
Click Save to complete the lead sync configuration. The sync of leads between Insightly and Thryv Business Center will begin immediately after saving.
After Installation: Managing Your Integration
After the Insightly integration is installed and configured, you can edit the field mapping for any active sync at any time. Click the Setup and Run button for the sync you want to edit to open the integration configuration screen. From the configuration screen you can add or remove mapped fields and update any sync settings.
How synced Insightly fields appear in Thryv Business Center
After the sync is complete, Insightly contact fields will appear on the client card in Thryv Business Center. The client card displays the synced fields including contact information such as email address, address, and any custom fields mapped during the configuration, for example, Name of Pet or Staff Member Feedback fields if those were mapped during setup.
How to Uninstall the Insightly Integration
To uninstall the Insightly integration from your Thryv Business Center account, click the Uninstall button in the top-right corner of the sync options screen. A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to confirm the uninstall. Click Uninstall to confirm.
The confirmation dialog displays the message: "Are You Sure You Want To Uninstall This App?" with a Cancel button and an Uninstall button. Click Uninstall to proceed with removing the integration.
Uninstalling the Insightly integration will stop all ongoing syncs immediately. Any data that was previously synced between Insightly and Thryv Business Center will remain in both systems. To delete previously synced data, you will need to remove the records directly in each platform individually.
