Increase your reach and stay connected with your customers by maintaining your presence across various social media platforms. No matter where your users are online, you can stay connected with them in Business Center by posting to multiple social platforms simultaneously. This guide will show you how to create or schedule a post for one or multiple social media pages.
To get started, navigate to Social>Social Calendar
To post right away, click on Post Now
In the window that appears, you will be able to create your post. Either a caption or an image is required, though for best results it is recommended to have both. Enter your caption in the text field provided. You also can use ThryvAI to create your caption by clicking on CaptionAI.
High-Thryver Tip: While a great caption is certainly important, social media posts perform far better when an image or video is included. See below for guides to add images or video to your post.
Add an Image to your Post
To add an image to your post, click on the Camera Icon.
You will be able to select whether to Upload Photos from your device's file explorer, Find Free Stock Images in the Pexels library, or Design Custom Media using our integration with Canva.
Once you've selected your image, it will appear in your post. You can click on the x to remove it, or click on Add Image to add more images to your post.
Add Video to your Post
Video is a great way to get your audience to engage with your content! While they are the most time-consuming to create, video content is the best-performing type of content on social media! To add a video to your post, click on the Video Icon.
You will be brought to your device's file explorer, where you can select a video file to upload. A preview of your video will appear. Give a Title to your video. Note that this title will not publish with your post, but is used internally within Business Center for you to distinguish one post from another. To select a Thumbnail, scroll through the video to the desired frame, and click Use Frame as Thumbnail.
Add a Link Card to your Post
To add a link card, click on the Link Icon.
In the pop-up box, enter the URL you would like to link in your post, then click Save.
Your link card will preview here and it will be included in your post.
You can also use the emoji selector to add emojis to your post, or click on the hashtag icon to add or manage your saved hashtags.
To add an internal tag to this post, click on +Add Tags. Note that these are tags that will only appear in Business Center for you to distinguish your posts. These are not the same as hashtags and will not be published with your post.
Note that you are also able to create unique captions for each social platform while creating the same post.
Choose which social platforms to post to by ensuring the boxes for them are checked. You are able to post to all social platforms simultaneously. However, keep in mind different platforms have different requirements. For example, posting to YouTube requires a video in your post.
When you are ready, click on Publish to # Accounts to publish your post. Alternatively, you can click on the arrow to save this post for later, or schedule it for a later date.
Once you publish, your publishing queue will appear letting you know the progress. Publishing time can vary based on the size of the post and platform, and whether the post has a video. In the rare event the post fails to publish, you will be notified here.
To schedule a post in advance, click on a date in the calendar to schedule a post for that date.
In the window that appears, use the Schedule field to set the time zone for your post, if needed.
Then, set a time for your post. Note that if you want to re-use the same post again, you can click on +Add Another Post Date to automatically schedule an additional time/date for the post.
Then, create your post as normal, and click on Schedule when you are ready to schedule it. Remember, you can come back and edit your post any time before the scheduled date/time.
FAQ
Can I post any kind of content to any platform?
No, each platform has it's own requirements. Instagram and Pinterest require either an image or video to post. TikTok and YouTube each require a video. Each platform may also have additional requirements
Why did my post fail?
When a post fails, it will appear in red with an error icon in your social calendar. Click on the failed post to see the error message. Once you resolve the error message, you can reschedule your post. The most common type of error experienced is caused by the limitations of the platform (ex. trying to post text-only to YouTube).
My personal Facebook page is connected. Why can't I post to it?
This is a platform limitation from Meta. They do not allow 3rd party platforms to post to personal pages, they only allow this for Business pages.
My Google Business Profile is connected. Why can't I post to it?
Only verified Google Business Profiles can post. Click Here for our guide to verifying your Google Business Profile.
Why are some posts on my calendar blue and some yellow?
This happens when you have Thryv-generated content created as part of your plan. A post that is yellow indicates that our social team is still revising and working on your post. It is not considered final until it appears in Blue. It is not recommended to post or edit these posts, as our team has not finished the revision process.
