Transitioning your social posting to Business Center is a breeze! You can upload your existing content in a CSV file and pick up right where you left off! We will show you how to format your CSV and where to upload it, so that you can keep your existing content schedule and save hours of time creating content!
Article Contents:
Formatting Your CSV
To get started, you'll need a CSV file containing your existing content. If you don't have one started, you can use this template.
Required Columns
Link
Include a URL for any online content you would like to share. This can include Podcasts, Blogs, etc. If there is already an image and/or caption associated with the link, Business Center will automatically include it. However, if you have a caption in the Caption column of your CSV, it will override the caption associated with the link.
Image
This is the URL of an image for your post. Include a link to an image hosted online. First, locate your online image, then find the 'Direct Link' and paste it into the template.
Caption
Include text to appear along with your content. Note that this will override any caption associated with a link in the Link column
Optional Columns
Title,
You can toggle for individual posts whether you want them to include an internal title. This will not be posted publicly, but can be used internally to distinguish one post from another
Approved
You can toggle whether you want individual posts to already be approved to post upon import, or set them to require approval before posting. Note that you can also apply a setting to the entire CSV and not toggle this individually when you import (shown in the import process below). Using this column overrides the global setting
To ensure a post is approved, mark TRUE in this column. To require approval before posting the content publicly, mark False in this column.
Recycle
Use this column to determine individually whether this post will be automatically re-used at a later date. Note that you can also apply a setting to the entire CSV and not toggle this individually when you import (shown in the import process below). Using this column overrides the global setting.
To ensure a post is recycled, mark TRUE in this column. To prevent content from being recycled, mark False in this column.
High-Thryver Tip: Recycling content can be a great way to save yourself time! For best results, be sure to mix recycled content with new and original posts!
Comment
This is not a public comment on the post, but rather an internal comment for your team. This can be viewed when you or a staff member clicks on a content item in Business Center.
Schedule
To set a scheduled date for your content, include a date in this format yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm
For example, 2024-03-04 17:45 would equate to March 4th, 2024 at 5:45pm based on the timezone in your Settings.
Alternatively, you can just choose the desired day (for example: 2024-03-04) and Business Center will automatically schedule the post at peak time during that day.
Category
Category is an internal labeling system for your content. The category will not be posted publicly, they are just for you and your staff to organize your content.
High Thryver Tip: A great use for categories is A/B Testing. Create 2 different categories for posts with different content strategies. This makes it very easy to see which type of content performs better, to inform your future content creation decisions.
Shorten Link
If you're sharing a link in the Link column, you can use the link shortener feature to automatically shorten that link into a "shaa.re" link.
High Thryver Tip: This feature is especially useful when sharing links to LinkedIn, since LinkedIn will sometimes have trouble processing links in their natural state. Shortening links going to LinkedIn prevents most issues like that from happening.
To shorten your links, just provide either "TRUE" to shorten, or "FALSE" to not shorten in this column, as shown here:
Upload Your File
Once your CSV is ready, all that's left to do is upload it to Business Center, and your content is ready to go!
To do so, navigate to Social>Content Library
Insert Screenshot here when Nav is decided
Then, click on the gear icon, and in the menu that appears, click on Upload CSV Content
Then, either drag and drop your file to the space provided, or click on it to locate them in your device's file explorer. Note that you are able to upload more than one file
Advanced Options
There are also global settings you can apply to all content in the import:
- Recycle Content - if this box is checked, all content in the import will be queued to reuse later. Note that you can create a column in your spreadsheet to toggle this for individual posts
- Require Approvals - if this box is checked, then all of the content in the import will require approval within Business Center before posting publicly. Note that you can create a column in your spreadsheet to toggle this for individual posts.
- Add Watermark - if this box is checked, a watermark will appear automatically in all of your images, in order to prevent others from using your content.
When you're ready to upload, click on Upload Files
You will see a success screen indicating that your upload is in process. You will be notified when the upload is finished and the posts are ready. You can click on Done Uploading and continue working while your posts are prepared for you.
