Add WebChat to a WordPress Website
This guide assumes you already have connected WebChat as a channel and have obtained the code snippet. If you have not done so, follow this guide first.
This guide covers websites built in the WordPress website editor specifically. If your site is built by another provider and hosted by WordPress, you will need to add the necessary code to the Head section of your HTML in that website builder.
Note that WordPress requires a plugin to gain access to the Header HTML. If you already have installed a plugin for this, Click Here to skip to the process to install one
Also note that if your website is hosted by GoDaddy, GoDaddy only allows editing of the Header HTML on GoDaddy-managed WordPress sites. In this instance, WebChat must be installed directly in WordPress.
Start from your WordPress site Dashboard
1. On the left-hand navigation, click on Plugins
2. Search for a plugin that allows you to edit the Header HTML
3. In the results, select a plugin
4. Click on Install and Activate to install your plugin. An installation screen will follow
5. Click on Manage Plugin
6. Locate your plugin and click on Settings
7. The look and feel may vary depending on the plugin selected, but paste your WebChat code into the Head or Header field
Don't forget to click Save if necessary
8. WebChat will be available in the lower right corner of your website
8. Any messages your customers send through WebChat will appear in your Command Center inbox
