This article covers how to set up and use Caller ID in the Thryv® Business Center™ mobile app, including how to enable Caller ID on your device, how incoming calls appear, and how the contact sync works. This article applies to both iPhone and Android devices. This article does not cover managing contacts in Thryv Business Center. For help managing contacts, see how to manage client contacts in Thryv Business Center.
Why Caller ID Helps You Respond Faster to Leads and Clients
When your phone rings, knowing immediately whether the call is from a lead or an existing client changes how you respond. The Caller ID feature in the Thryv Business Center mobile app displays the contact name from your Thryv Business Center account on incoming calls, so you can identify clients and leads before answering. Caller ID works by syncing up to 1,000 contacts from your Thryv Business Center account to your device, so the contact name appears on your phone's incoming call screen automatically — without needing to open the app.
How to Set Up Caller ID in the Thryv Business Center Mobile App
Follow these steps to enable Caller ID on your device. Caller ID must be enabled on each device individually — if you use more than one device, repeat these steps on each device separately.
-
Open the Thryv Business Center mobile app and tap Clients in the bottom navigation.
The screenshot above shows the Thryv Business Center mobile app home screen. The Clients option appears in the bottom navigation bar. Tapping Clients opens the Clients screen where the Caller ID setup banner appears if Caller ID has not yet been enabled.
-
If Caller ID is not already enabled, a banner will appear at the top of the Clients screen. Tap Turn On in the banner to begin the setup.
The screenshot above shows the Clients screen in the Thryv Business Center mobile app with the Caller ID setup banner displayed at the top. The Turn On button appears in the banner. The banner only appears when Caller ID has not yet been enabled on the device.
-
On the Caller ID settings screen, set the Turn on Caller ID toggle to On. A prompt will appear with instructions to grant Caller ID permission in your phone settings. Tap Go To Settings to open your phone settings automatically.

After setting the toggle to On, a prompt appears explaining the permission required. The Go To Settings button opens the phone settings directly to the Caller ID permission screen.
-
In your phone settings, locate the Thryv toggle and set it to On to grant Caller ID permission to the Thryv Business Center mobile app.
The screenshot above shows the phone settings screen for Caller ID app permissions. The screen displays a list of apps that have requested Caller ID permission. The Thryv toggle must be set to On to allow the Thryv Business Center mobile app to display contact names on incoming calls. After enabling the toggle, return to the Thryv Business Center mobile app — Caller ID is now active on the device.
How Incoming Calls Appear With Caller ID Enabled
When a call is received from a contact that exists in your Thryv Business Center account, the incoming call screen on your device will display the label Thryv Business Center Caller ID along with the contact name as it appears in your Thryv Business Center account. Calls from phone numbers that do not match any contact in your Thryv Business Center account will display normally without the Thryv Business Center Caller ID label.
The screenshot above shows an incoming call screen on a mobile device with Caller ID enabled. The Thryv Business Center Caller ID label appears above the contact name. The contact name displayed matches the name saved in the Thryv Business Center account for that phone number. The standard incoming call controls — answer and decline — appear below the contact information.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does this article cover?
This article covers how to set up and use Caller ID in the Thryv Business Center mobile app, including how to enable Caller ID on your device, how incoming calls appear, and how the contact sync works. This article applies to both iPhone and Android devices. This article does not cover managing contacts in Thryv Business Center. For help managing contacts, see how to manage client contacts in Thryv Business Center.
How many contacts can sync with Caller ID?
Caller ID syncs a maximum of 1,000 contacts from your Thryv Business Center account to your device. If your account has more than 1,000 contacts, only the first 1,000 contacts will sync and the remaining contacts will not appear as Caller ID on incoming calls.
How often does the Caller ID contact sync occur?
The Caller ID contact sync triggers each time the Thryv Business Center mobile app is opened and each time the app returns to the foreground after running in the background. The sync also triggers automatically every 30 minutes from the last time the app was opened. To ensure a newly added contact appears in Caller ID, close the Thryv Business Center mobile app completely and reopen it to trigger a fresh sync.
Can I disable Caller ID?
Yes. To disable Caller ID, open your phone settings and navigate to the Caller ID app permissions screen. Set the Thryv toggle to Off. Caller ID will be disabled on that device immediately. The setting can be re-enabled at any time by returning to the same screen and setting the Thryv toggle back to On.
Is Caller ID available on all mobile devices?
Caller ID is available for both iPhone and Android devices. For best results, ensure your device's operating system software is up to date before enabling Caller ID.
Can I use Caller ID on more than one device?
Yes. The same Thryv Business Center account can have Caller ID enabled across multiple devices. Each device must be logged in to the Thryv Business Center mobile app and Caller ID must be enabled individually on each device following the setup steps in this article.
