How to Access Your Campaign Design Settings
The design settings for your email campaign are located in the Campaign Builder Settings tab. To access your campaign design settings, open the Campaign Builder and click the Settings tab. The Settings tab displays all design controls for your email campaign layout, including content area width, content area alignment, background colors, default font and link color. The campaign previewer on the right side of the Campaign Builder updates in real time as you make changes so you can see exactly how your campaign will look before you send it.
How to Adjust Your Content Area Width and Alignment
The Content Area Width slider controls the width of the area in which your campaign content appears.
To adjust the content area width, click and drag the Content Area Width slider to the left to make the content area narrower, or to the right to make the content area wider. A pixel counter displays the exact width of the content area as you drag the slider so you can set a precise width. The Content Area Width setting applies to the desktop view of your email campaign only. The mobile view is always fixed to stay responsive to the screen size of the device your contact is using, the Content Area Width slider does not affect how your campaign appears on mobile devices.
Use the Content Area Alignment toggle to control how your campaign content is aligned within the content area. Click the Content Area Alignment toggle to set your content to align to the left or to the center of the content area. The Content Area Alignment toggle controls the alignment of all content blocks in your campaign by default.
Note: If you need a specific content block to be aligned differently from the rest of your campaign, you can override the alignment for that block individually in the Content Properties panel for that block.
How to Change Your Campaign Background Colors
The Campaign Builder Settings tab includes two separate background color controls. The Background Color setting controls the color of the area outside your content area, this is the background visible on either side of your email content. The Content Area Background Color setting controls the background color of the content area itself, where your text, images, and other content blocks appear. These two settings are independent of each other and can be set to different colors.
To change either background color, locate the color field for the setting you want to update. Double-click the Hex Code field to type in an exact color value, or click the color icon to open the color picker. In the color picker, click and drag the dot on the color gradient to select a color, use the color slider to adjust the hue, or select a color from the theme palette displayed at the bottom of the color picker.
To set the color to Transparent, click on the grey and white checkered icon next to the slider.
Changes to your background colors take effect immediately and are visible in the campaign previewer on the right side of the Campaign Builder. Review the campaign previewer after making background color changes to confirm the colors display as expected before sending your campaign.
How to Set Your Default Font and Link Color
The Default Font setting controls the font applied to all text content in your email campaign. To change the default font, click the Default Font drop-down menu and select the font you want to apply to your campaign. The Default Font setting applies to all content blocks in your campaign by default. If you need a specific content block to use a different font from the rest of your campaign, you can override the font for that block individually in the Content Properties panel for that block.
The Link Color setting controls the color of any hyperlinks displayed in your email campaign. Setting a distinct link color makes links stand out from the surrounding text and helps your contacts identify clickable content in your campaign.
To change the link color, double-click the Hex Code field to type in an exact color value, or click the color icon to open the color picker. In the color picker, click and drag the dot on the color gradient to select a color, use the color slider to adjust the hue, or select a color from the theme palette displayed at the bottom of the color picker.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Content Area Width setting affect how my campaign looks on mobile devices?
No. The Content Area Width slider controls the width of the content area on the desktop view of your email campaign only. The mobile view of your email campaign is always fixed to stay responsive to the screen size of the device your contact is using. Adjusting the Content Area Width slider will not change how your campaign appears on mobile devices.
Can I set a different font or alignment for an individual content block?
Yes. The Default Font and Content Area Alignment settings in the Campaign Builder Settings tab apply to all content blocks in your campaign by default. To override the font or alignment for a specific content block, click on the content block you want to change and update the font or alignment in the Content Properties panel for that block. Changes made in the Content Properties panel apply to that individual content block only and do not affect the rest of your campaign.
What is the difference between Background Color and Content Area Background Color?
The Background Color setting controls the color of the area outside your content area, this is the background visible on either side of your email content. The Content Area Background Color setting controls the background color of the content area itself, where your text, images and other content blocks appear. The two settings are independent of each other and can be set to different colors to create contrast between the content area and the surrounding background.
Can I set my background color to transparent?
Yes. To set either the Background Color or the Content Area Background Color to transparent, open the color picker for the setting you want to update and click the grey and white checkered icon next to the color slider. Setting a background color to transparent means no background color will be applied to that area of your email campaign.
When do my design setting changes take effect?
Design setting changes take effect immediately and are visible in the campaign previewer on the right side of the Campaign Builder as soon as you make them. You do not need to save or apply changes before previewing them. Review the campaign previewer after making design setting changes to confirm everything displays as expected before sending your campaign.
