In an effort to ensure security for your account, Thryv has implemented multi-factor authentication for the Thryv Platform and all associated applications. With hacking attempts on the rise, this security is vital to keep you and your customer information safe. This guide will show you how to log into your account with multi-factor authentication.
- Improved security: MFA provides an additional layer of security by requiring users to provide multiple forms of authentication, such as a password and a verification code sent to a mobile device.
- Reduced risk of fraud: With MFA, even if an attacker obtains a user's password, they would still need to provide the additional authentication factor to access the account.
- Compliance with regulations: Many industries, such as finance and healthcare, are required to comply with strict security regulations, and MFA is often a mandatory requirement for meeting these standards.
If you do not currently have MFA enabled on your account, you will be prompted to do so. There are 2 available methods, SMS or an external authentication app such as Google Authenticator. Below is the process to set up an use each method.
MFA with SMS
First, enter the phone number you wish to use for MFA. This must me a mobile phone that can receive SMS messages, and ideally one that you would have access to all the time. Enter the desired number and then click on Continue
To verify the number, a 6 digit numerical code will be sent as an SMS message. Enter the code as it appears on your phone. If you did not receive a code, first ensure the number is correct. Click on Edit to change the number if it is not. If the number is correct, click on Resend to try again.
Once your phone number is verified, you will be logged into your Thryv software! Upon future logins, a 6 digit code will be sent to this number through SMS in the same way. This will be a requirement to log in to keep your account secure.
Google Authenticator or other external app
To verify your account, open your preferred authenticator app and scan the QR code. Alternatively, you can click on Trouble Scanning and instead manually copy the code that appears into your authenticator.
In Google Authenticator, tap the + icon in the lower right corner, then select either Scan a QR Code or Enter A Setup Key, and then either scan the QR code or enter the code from Thryv.
When you do so, you will receive a 6 digit code in Google Authenticator. Enter that one-time code into Thryv
Once your authenticator is verified, you will be logged into your Thryv software! Upon future logins, a 6 digit code will be sent to your authenticator in the same way. This will be a requirement to log in to keep your account secure.
Remember Your Device
For either method, you are able to set Thryv to remember the device you are using for the next 30 days. This means you will only have to re-authenticate every 30 days on that device. You would have to complete MFA again if logging in from a different device
To do so, make sure the checkbox Remember this device for 30 days is checked while entering the six-digit code
