Why Use the Thryv Business Center Calendar
Managing appointments across multiple tools means double bookings, missed clients, and time wasted on back-and-forth scheduling. The Thryv Business Center™ calendar brings all of your appointments, staff schedules, and availability into one place so you can stay organized and keep your business running without the chaos. When a client books online, the time blocks automatically. When you make a change, your staff sees it immediately. And when you sync your personal calendar, your personal events protect your time without any manual effort.
Reduce no-shows — Thryv Business Center sends automatic appointment reminders to your clients by email and SMS text, so they show up when they said they would.

How to Access the Calendar in Thryv Business Center
Click Calendar in the left-hand navigation of Thryv Business Center to open your calendar.

How to Navigate the Calendar Layout
Click the toggle icon in the top left corner of the calendar to show or hide the left panel. Clicking the toggle icon once hides the left panel. Clicking it again brings the left panel back.

The mini month view in the left panel lets you quickly navigate to any date. Click the left or right arrows to move forward or backward one month at a time. Click on any date in the mini month view to jump to that date in the main calendar. If your main calendar is set to a multi-day view such as week or month, clicking a date in the mini month view will display the full time period that includes that date.

To jump directly to a specific month and year without clicking through months one at a time, click the month and year label at the top of the mini month view. A month and year selector will appear.

To return to today's date from any point in the calendar, click the Today button at the top of the calendar. The main calendar will jump back to the current date immediately.

How to Manage Staff, Services, and Synced Calendar from the Left Panel
The dropdowns in the lower left corner of the calendar give you quick access to staff calendar controls, your synced external calendar, and your service list.
Toggle staff calendars — Check the box next to each staff member's name to display that staff member's appointments on the main calendar. Uncheck the box to hide their appointments.
Synced calendar — Click the gear icon next to the synced calendar section to connect an external calendar, disconnect a connected calendar, or change sync preferences. Each staff member's synced calendar connects only to that staff member's Thryv Business Center calendar. Your synced calendar does not affect your staff members' calendars, and their synced calendars do not affect yours.
Services — Click the three-dot menu next to any service in the services list to schedule that service, copy a link to invite a client to book that service, edit the service in your service settings, or change the color that service displays on the calendar when viewing a single staff member. When viewing multiple staff members simultaneously, appointment colors represent staff members rather than service types.

How to Change Your Calendar View
Click the view dropdown in the top right corner of the calendar to change the time period displayed. The available views are Day, 3 Days, Week, Month, and Agenda. Selecting Day, 3 Days, Week, or Month changes the calendar grid to display that time period. Selecting Agenda displays your appointments as a chronological list instead of a grid.

Below the view dropdown, two display settings are available. Click Show Weekends to toggle Saturday and Sunday on or off in your calendar view. Click Show Side by Side to display each staff member's calendar in a separate column instead of overlapping on a single calendar grid. Show Side by Side is useful when managing multiple staff members working at the same time.

Use the left and right arrows in the top left of the calendar to move forward or backward in time. Each click advances or retreats by one increment of the currently selected view — one day if Day view is selected, one week if Week view is selected, and so on.

How to Find Your Next Available Appointment Time
To instantly find your next available time slot, click the Find Availability button at the top of the calendar.

After clicking Find Availability, a window will open. Select the service you want to schedule from the service list in the window.

After selecting a service, the calendar displays the next available time slot for that service. You can select from the next several available time slots or filter by time of day using the Morning, Afternoon, or Evening filter options.

How to Schedule, Block Time, and Take Quick Actions
Click the New button at the top of the calendar to access the following quick actions:
Schedule a 1:1 Appointment — create a one-on-one appointment with a client.
Schedule a Group Event — create an appointment that multiple clients can register for.
Block Off Time — block a time range on your calendar to prevent online bookings during that period.
Edit Date-Specific Availability — set custom hours for a single date without changing your recurring weekly schedule.

Click the More Actions dropdown next to the New button to access two additional options:
Invite to Schedule — send one or multiple clients a link to your online scheduler so they can book their own appointment with you.

Click the gear icon at the top of the calendar to access your calendar settings. Each option in the gear icon dropdown opens the corresponding settings page or dialog box for that calendar feature.

How do I prevent my personal calendar events from being overwritten by client bookings?
After syncing your external calendar (Google, Outlook, or Yahoo) with Thryv Business Center, mark your personal events as Busy in your external calendar. Thryv Business Center respects Busy blocks and automatically prevents clients from booking during those times. Events marked as Free in your external calendar will not block your Thryv Business Center availability.
Can I view my upcoming appointments as a list instead of a calendar grid?
Yes. Click the view dropdown in the top right corner of the calendar and select Agenda. The Agenda view displays all upcoming appointments in chronological order as a list rather than a grid.
How do I view my staff members' calendars in separate columns?
Click the Show Side by Side checkbox below the view dropdown in the top right corner of the calendar. When Show Side by Side is enabled, each staff member's appointments appear in a separate column rather than overlapping on a single calendar grid. This view is useful for businesses with multiple staff members working at the same time.
Why are my appointments showing in different colors?
The color coding in the Thryv Business Center calendar changes based on what you are viewing. When you are viewing multiple staff members at the same time, each color represents a different staff member. When you are viewing only your own calendar, each color represents a different service type. You can customize service colors by clicking the three-dot menu next to any service in the services list in the lower left panel.
How do I change my availability for just one day without affecting my regular schedule?
Click the New button at the top of the calendar and select Edit Date-Specific Availability. This option lets you set custom hours for a single date without changing your recurring weekly availability schedule.
