Starting a job without collecting a deposit upfront means absorbing the risk if a client cancels or disappears after the work is done. Request a Deposit on an Estimate in Thryv lets you add a deposit requirement to any estimate as either a percentage or a flat dollar amount, so clients commit financially before you invest time and resources in their project. Once the estimate is sent, clients can approve the estimate and pay the deposit directly from the client portal in a single step, with an optional signature capture before payment. If you need to approve and collect the deposit on behalf of a client, you can do so from inside Thryv without requiring the client to log in. After the deposit is collected, the estimate status updates to Approved and the deposit amount paid is displayed on the estimate record. To add a deposit to an estimate, open the estimate, build out your line items, and select Request a Deposit on the bottom right of the screen.
