This article covers how to connect Thryv® to ServiceMonster so incoming leads automatically sync as Accounts. It does not cover managing Orders, Leads, or Estimates inside ServiceMonster — continue managing those the way you do today.
Every lead that comes into Thryv can now flow directly into ServiceMonster, automatically. When a lead calls, fills out a form, or reaches out through your listings, Thryv captures and qualifies the lead and sends it to ServiceMonster as an Account with call notes, form details, and lead quality signals already attached. Your team gets full context the moment a lead lands, so follow-ups are faster and nothing slips through the cracks. Connect Thryv and ServiceMonster to turn more leads into customers without adding steps to your workflow. Save time by eliminating manual exports, data copy-paste, and missed follow-ups.

Benefits of Sending Thryv Leads to ServiceMonster Automatically
Thryv captures and qualifies every incoming lead — calls, form submissions, and listing inquiries — and sends each qualifying lead to ServiceMonster as an Account automatically. No manual exports, no data entry, and no leads sitting in a queue waiting to be moved.
Every Account arrives with full detail already attached: name, email, phone number, and a note containing the call conversation summary or form submission details, including Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment written directly into the note text.
If an Account already exists in ServiceMonster, Thryv updates that record instead of creating a duplicate, matching first on email address, then on phone number. Your customer list stays clean, your team stays focused, and every lead gets the follow-up it deserves.
Your ServiceMonster workflow stays intact. The integration works behind the scenes. Continue using ServiceMonster exactly as you do today for scheduling jobs and managing operations — leads simply show up as Accounts.
How to Connect Thryv to ServiceMonster
Before You Begin
To connect Thryv to ServiceMonster, you need:
- An active Thryv account.
- Administrator access to ServiceMonster, to generate an API key.
Connecting Thryv and ServiceMonster
Log in to ServiceMonster as an administrator. Click Settings in the left-hand navigation. Then click API Users.
Click +API User at the top of the list. Select a role for the key. ServiceMonster recommends Super User, which allows creating, reading, and updating records without full administrator delete permissions. Add a note to identify the key as your Thryv connection, then click Submit.
Save the API credentials ServiceMonster generates. The password is not retrievable later, so store it securely before continuing.
Select ServiceMonster from the Integrations Directory in Thryv.
Review the permissions Thryv is requesting. Then paste your ServiceMonster API key when prompted. Thryv uses this key to authenticate and connect the two accounts.
Thryv validates the key and completes the setup. Leads automatically start flowing from Thryv to ServiceMonster once the key is validated.
How Leads Sync from Thryv to ServiceMonster
Thryv Automatically Syncs Qualifying Leads. Once connected, Thryv monitors incoming leads and checks each lead's score against the filtering rule before sending it to ServiceMonster.
Thryv Creates or Updates the Matching Account. For each qualifying lead, Thryv checks whether a matching Account already exists in ServiceMonster, first by email address, then by phone number. If a match is found, Thryv updates that Account. If no match is found, Thryv creates a new Account.
Thryv Attaches Notes and Context to the Account. Call activity and form submission details are added to the Account as a note. Because ServiceMonster's API doesn't support custom tags or fields, Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment are written directly into the note text alongside the rest of the context, rather than as separate fields.
Continue the Workflow in ServiceMonster. Leads appear in ServiceMonster as Accounts with full context attached. From there, continue your normal workflow: schedule jobs, create estimates, and manage operations.
Qualifying leads reach ServiceMonster in near real time, so your team can follow up while the lead is still deciding.
Which Leads Are Sent to ServiceMonster
Not every lead is sent to ServiceMonster. The connection filters leads by score so your Account list reflects strong leads instead of noise. By default:
- Leads scored 3 or higher are sent to ServiceMonster. These are qualified, high-intent leads.
- Unscored leads are sent to ServiceMonster. A lead that has not yet received a score is still passed through so it is not lost.
- Leads scored 1 or 2 are held back. Low-scored leads are not sent to ServiceMonster, keeping low-quality leads out of your Account list.
What Data Is Shared with ServiceMonster
When a lead syncs, Thryv sends the following information to ServiceMonster:
- Name (first and last)
- Email address
- Phone number
- Call conversation summary and key notes, including Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment, added as an Account note
- Form submission details, added as an Account note when applicable
How to Check Your ServiceMonster Connection Status
Check whether ServiceMonster is connected from the Integrations Directory in Thryv at any time.
How to Disconnect Thryv from ServiceMonster
Uninstall the integration at any time from the Integrations Directory in Thryv. Disconnecting will:
- Stop new leads from syncing to ServiceMonster
- Remove Thryv's stored API key for your ServiceMonster account
Existing Account records and notes already in ServiceMonster are not affected when you disconnect.
When to Use This Integration
This integration is a good fit if:
- You already use ServiceMonster to manage your field service operations
- You want leads from Thryv delivered directly into your existing workflow
- You want to avoid manually moving lead data between systems
- You're comfortable with Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment showing up as part of the note text rather than as a separate tag, since that's the only way ServiceMonster's API supports today
Frequently Asked Questions
How are leads scored?
ThryvAI listens to calls received on your tracked phone numbers from your Thryv program. It listens for Intent Signals during the call, such as a caller asking for a quote, mentioning an emergency, or discussing a specific service. ThryvAI weighs these signals to determine if the lead is high-priority (Hot) or an inquiry (Warm), then assigns a numerical score from 1 through 5. Use the lead score to prioritize follow-ups so you invest your marketing time into the leads most likely to convert.
- 5 – The client booked an appointment or made a purchase.
- 4 – A productive conversation about services took place, even if no sale or appointment was made. May include quotes or contact info exchange.
- 3 – An existing customer called about past work, questions, or to reschedule. Or, minimal interest was shown with no contact info shared.
- 2 – The lead was a wrong fit (for example, outside the service area or competitor research) with no clear interest.
- 1 – The call was spam, a sales call, a wrong number, an unintelligible voicemail, or showed no clear customer intent.

Why is my Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment inside the note instead of a tag or field?
ServiceMonster's public API doesn't currently expose tags or custom fields, so there's no separate place to store that data. To make sure you still get the lead-quality context, Thryv writes it directly into the note text alongside the rest of the call or form details.
Does the connection create duplicate Accounts in ServiceMonster?
No. The connection checks for an existing Account first by email address, then by phone number. If a match is found on either, Thryv updates the existing Account instead of creating a new one. Thryv creates a new Account only when no match is found on either field.
Will I lose my ServiceMonster Accounts if I disconnect?
No. Disconnecting stops new leads from syncing and removes Thryv's stored API key, but Account records and notes that already exist in ServiceMonster are not affected. Disconnecting removes the connection, not your data.
Does the connection send my ServiceMonster data back into Thryv?
No. The connection sends qualified leads from Thryv to ServiceMonster. It does not pull ServiceMonster Order, Lead, or Estimate data back into Thryv.
Does this integration manage my Orders or Estimates in ServiceMonster?
No. This integration creates and updates Account records and their notes only. Continue managing Orders, Leads, and Estimates in ServiceMonster the way you do today.
