This article covers connecting Thryv to GoHighLevel, how leads are scored and synced, what data is shared, and how to manage or disconnect the integration. This article does not cover setting up GoHighLevel Opportunities, Pipelines, Conversations, Tasks, or Appointments — those continue to be managed directly in GoHighLevel. This article also does not cover how Thryv calculates lead scores in detail; for that, see the FAQ section below.
Benefits of Sending Thryv Leads to GoHighLevel
Every call, form submission, and listing inquiry that comes into Thryv can be sent straight into GoHighLevel as a Contact, without any manual work. This saves your team from manual exports, copy-pasting lead data, and leads sitting unworked in a separate system while a prospect is still deciding.
Each Contact arrives in GoHighLevel with full context already attached: name, email, phone number, a Thryv Score, and a Thryv Sentiment tag. Your team can see which leads are worth calling first without opening a second platform or reading through a full call transcript.
Sending leads this way also keeps your GoHighLevel Contact records clean. Instead of creating a duplicate Contact every time a prospect calls or fills out a form again, Thryv checks for an existing match and updates that Contact instead. Your pipeline stays accurate, and your team spends time following up instead of cleaning up data.
Your GoHighLevel workflow does not change. You continue building automations, managing Pipelines, and messaging Contacts in GoHighLevel exactly as you do today — qualified leads simply appear there automatically.
How to Connect Thryv to GoHighLevel
Open the Integrations Directory in Thryv.
Select GoHighLevel from the list of available integrations.
Review the permissions Thryv is requesting before continuing.
Sign in with your GoHighLevel credentials and authorize the connection.
Once authorization completes, the connection is active. Leads that meet the scoring criteria described below begin flowing from Thryv to GoHighLevel automatically, with no additional setup required.
How Leads Sync from Thryv to GoHighLevel
Once the connection is active, Thryv checks each incoming lead's score against the filtering rule before deciding whether to send it to GoHighLevel. Leads that meet the criteria are synced in near real time, so your team can follow up while the prospect is still engaged.
For each qualifying lead, Thryv checks whether a matching Contact already exists in GoHighLevel. Thryv checks first by internal record ID, then by email address, then by phone number. If a match is found, Thryv updates that existing Contact. If no match is found, Thryv creates a new Contact.
Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment are written to the Contact as tags, so your team can see lead quality directly on the Contact record. Call activity and form submission details are added to the Contact as a note. Notes are always added and never overwritten, so the Contact builds a running history of every interaction over time.
Which Leads Are Sent to GoHighLevel
Not every lead that comes into Thryv is sent to GoHighLevel. The connection filters leads by score so your team sees strong prospects instead of noise.
- Leads scored 3, 4, or 5 are sent to GoHighLevel. These are qualified, high-intent prospects.
- Unscored leads are sent to GoHighLevel. A lead that has not yet received a score is still passed through so it is not lost.
- Leads scored 1 or 2 are held back. These low-quality leads are not sent to GoHighLevel.
To learn how a lead's score is calculated, see the FAQ section below.
What Data Is Shared with GoHighLevel
When a lead syncs, Thryv sends the following information to GoHighLevel:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Thryv Score, applied as a Contact tag
- Thryv Sentiment, applied as a Contact tag
- Call conversation summary and key notes, added as a Contact note
- Form submission details, added as a Contact note when applicable
Managing Your GoHighLevel Connection
Check connection status — Open the Integrations Directory in Thryv at any time to confirm whether GoHighLevel is connected.
Disconnect the integration — Open the Integrations Directory in Thryv and remove the GoHighLevel connection. Disconnecting does the following:
- Stops new leads from syncing to GoHighLevel
- Removes Thryv's stored access to your GoHighLevel account
Disconnecting does not delete or change any Contact records, tags, or notes already created in GoHighLevel. Disconnecting removes the connection going forward; it does not remove existing data.
What This Integration Does Not Do
This integration creates and updates GoHighLevel Contact records, along with their tags and notes. It does not manage any other part of GoHighLevel. Specifically:
- Thryv does not read or pull GoHighLevel Opportunity, Conversation, Task, or Appointment data back into Thryv. Data flows one direction only: from Thryv to GoHighLevel.
- This integration does not create or manage GoHighLevel Opportunities or Pipelines.
- This integration does not send or manage GoHighLevel Conversations, Tasks, or Appointments.
- This integration does not process payments in GoHighLevel.
Continue managing Opportunities, Pipelines, Conversations, Tasks, Appointments, and Payments directly in GoHighLevel as you do today.
When to Use This Integration
Connecting Thryv to GoHighLevel is a good fit if:
- You already use GoHighLevel to manage Contacts and automations
- You want Thryv leads delivered directly into your existing GoHighLevel workflow
- You want to eliminate manually moving lead data between systems
- You want Thryv Score and Thryv Sentiment visible on the Contact record without extra setup
FAQ
How does Thryv calculate a lead's score?
ThryvAI listens to calls received on your tracked phone numbers and identifies intent signals during the conversation, such as a caller asking for a quote, mentioning an emergency, or discussing a specific service. ThryvAI weighs these signals and assigns a numerical score from 1 through 5:
- 5 — The client booked an appointment or made a purchase.
- 4 — The call included a productive conversation about services, even without a sale or appointment. May include a quote or an exchange of contact information.
- 3 — An existing customer called about past work, asked a question, or rescheduled. Or, the caller showed minimal interest and did not share contact information.
- 2 — The caller was a wrong-fit lead, such as someone outside the service area or a competitor researching pricing, with no clear interest.
- 1 — The call was spam, a sales call, a wrong number, an unintelligible voicemail, or showed no clear customer intent.

Does connecting Thryv to GoHighLevel create duplicate Contacts?
No. Thryv checks for an existing Contact first by internal record ID, then by email address, then by phone number. If a match is found on any of those, Thryv updates the existing Contact instead of creating a new one. Thryv creates a new Contact only when no match is found.
Will I lose my GoHighLevel Contacts if I disconnect the integration?
No. Disconnecting stops new leads from syncing and removes Thryv's stored access to your GoHighLevel account. Contact records, tags, and notes that already exist in GoHighLevel are not affected.
Does this integration send GoHighLevel data back into Thryv?
No. This integration sends qualifying leads from Thryv to GoHighLevel only. It does not pull GoHighLevel Opportunity, Conversation, Task, or Appointment data back into Thryv.
Does this integration manage Opportunities, Conversations, or Appointments in GoHighLevel?
No. This integration creates and updates Contact records, tags, and notes only. Continue managing Opportunities, Pipelines, Conversations, Messaging, Tasks, Appointments, and Payments in GoHighLevel as you do today.
